I am ok with that. However if you don't want to go to Cincinnati area, Milwaukee is close to home. I have not heard their name at all in league discussions and there is probably a reason why, but I don't know what it is.
I do not think they have shown interest
Well, Belmont didn't either. I do like UIC and hope they are able to step up.
just here for the ratio. the only thing murray adds is about 1,000 more teeth to arch madness.
Craving a McBride Special!
I'd much rather see SIU play Murray State and UIC than Maryville and Missouri Baptist. The non-conference schedule set up by SIU this year shows the need to expand.

So a couple D-2 game are worth the 100k or so you lose ? Makes perfect sense 🙄

that's fair. why don't we just schedule them instead of handing them a chunk of our revenue?

we've been playing D-2 games for ever anyway. that's not going to change even if we add 10 more teams. i would rather have the money since it won't stop it. at least we aren't playing some of the non ncaa garbage others are playing. coach is going want to keep some tune up games. listen to barkeep.

one other thing on this...we lost to little rock and nearly lost to alcorn. i respect your thinking but we don't need to get too far out in front of our skis on this.

I’d be in favor of adding Murray and UIC.
If the MVC is going to 12 teams, I can’t imagine a better choice than Murray for SIU and it’s fans. I could understand Murray pushback from some of the other schools due to location and difficulty traveling to Murray, but it sure would be convenient for us. Not to mention the quality and consistency of their basketball program.
and these upcoming D-2 games are embarrassing and a Jack move on Saluki fans hard-earned money.
Nobody wants to watch that bullsh*t.
I would say this is the biggest advantage to expansion. 2 expansion teams = 4 more conference games = no regular season games against D2s.
Don't see any reason to bring in more than 2, though.
There was no excuse for those games to begin with.
Mid majors whine about teams not wanting to play them but refuse to schedule home and homes with similar programs.
Cry me a river.
I think Murray would be great. As someone said, hatred makes a good rivalry! And we need a Chicago presence which UIC gives us. Could help enrollment too and give Chicago alums a chance to see their team. My daughter and I went to several Loyola games in the Anthony Bean era - great fun!
I think those would be two very good adds.
And Murray has a consistently good mid-major program. Didn't make the Sweet 16? So freaking what!
Got hammered by Fla. St? So what!
Creighton just last year finally made the Sweet 16 after years of making the tournament with "good" teams. (Of course they cheat!) As far as getting blown out in the tournament, anybody remember a very good SIU team getting Pittsnogled by West Virginia? How about getting destroyed by Duke? Makes no difference. We got to the tournament and that's still an accomplishment a lot of schools would love to have.
As far as what Jerry Kill said about Murray a million years ago, don't know and absolutely do not care. If we were gonna take our ball and go home because some team years ago treated us badly, we would never play the Redturds again!
I'm betting the MVC presidents do something really stupid and add UMKC and UTA! I think Valpo was a mistake - this would be an even more destructive one.

I agree, but scheduling at the time you need a game isn't always easy. I can't imagine why we're playing Missouri Baptist and Maryville and actually charging admission. What's next, Ohio Dominican?
someone explain to me a scenario where the Dakota voting block have any reason to accept murrey in to the football conference. they can and have blocked it all on their own.

i recall our last sweet 16 team playing quincy, henderson and wash u. i think i had to pay for those tickets, too. two D2s and a D3. i don't care much for it myself, but let's not pretend it will change. hell, i remember we played william jewel during our 1977 sweet 16. trust in mullins and quit doubting his strategy.

If it was Barbeque scheduling this, would you feel the same?? LOL
