I never comment on refs but they started it
if the correct call is made and McGill shoots instead of Jones the game is probably over
just saying
So much this. Excellent point, barkeep!

My son in Chicago watched the replay of the game because it was blacked out up there.
The game was blacked out on E+ streaming because it was on NBC Sports Channel's alternate channel (formerly Comcast Sportsnet, 665-1 is the alt. channel on DirecTV), but it wasn't "blacked out" up here.
My concern will be with Arch Madness. NBCSC has the contract to air MVCTV b'casts. Last year they decided NOT to air the Friday evening games (or maybe the day games). I emailed them, got a stupid, uninformed reply that "the games are on MVCTV" and had to reply back I knew that and that THEY were the Chicago outlet for MVCTV. I didn't hear back. I worry that E+ will be blacked out regardless. I may have to get a VPN to see those games.

My son in Chicago watched the replay of the game because it was blacked out up there. He said there was a taller UNI player positioned right underneath the other side of the basket on Green's last shot and he would have laid it right back in except that McGill somehow leaped over him and deflected the ball from that guys hands and then recovered it. Game saving play too.
Very true. Who was covering Berhow on that last play?
If Suggs can't go on Saturday does Brown start over Harwin?
That kid just disappeared last night.
I'm not sure if anyone else noticed our signed recruit Dalton Banks (#2 rated player in Wisconsin), posted on Twitter yesterday after the game. He said "Floorburn U baby! Good dub! Can't wait to be a Saluki". When you have really talented players following the games and being genuinely excited, it can't help but get me drunk on the koolaid !
A lot of disparaging comments made about our team by their fans both prior and after the game. I never saw the sense in that particularly after you have had your butts handed to you. Many of their fans were upset about the flagrant foul. I in person saw a frustrated AJ Green intentionally elbow Brown in the face. The slow mo made it even more obvious. One of their fans claimed Brown threw his face into the elbow, lol. Anyway, sour grapes and all, we have 4 Valley home wins in a row and have a chance Saturday to get that elusive road win against the Turds. Go Dawgs
I didn't see "[a] lot of disparaging comments" about us at all over there. There were lots of people predicting a win and frustrated at the loss to a team picked to finish dead last, but our having been picked to finish last is a fact, not a disparaging comment.
Even (most of) the people complaining about the refs were willing to give us credit for good D and playing hard and taking it to them on offense, and there were several comments that were highly complimentary of Mullins & Co.
The amount of complaining about bad calls was pretty much exactly what you'd see here after a close, frustrating loss. 😉
agree that there were some credit given by some of the posters but there was also #78 "1 of the two worst teams" #82 "toilet team" #83 "bad as IL St" and my favorite #184 "dogshit team". I am not disputing that on the whole N Iowa fans are pretty much okay. In this instance many of them, like AJ were a little pissed off that SIU played them straight up and beat them. Must have been the refs.

Oh yeah: the refs just handed SIU the game! Hehe!
I think those remarks were more angry venting than anything else--I'd be pretty mad if my team's at-large hopes got severely damaged by a loss to a c. 200 RPI team too.
(Inflammatory political snark)
Without a doubt the Panthers and their fans will have a chance to hand it back to us Feb. 23 in Frostbite Falls. They are a solid well coached team.

They are indeed, a solid well coached team.
However, I believe the Saluki team they see in another month will be much better than the team they saw on Wednesday. I'm not so sure they will improve as much as we will.
I can't wait to see the Saluki team that rolls into St. Louis in March. Pumped, I tell ya!

At the risk of being a wet blanket, I'm not as high on this team's upside as you are. They will continue to progress and I'm a big believer in Mullins and Co. to coach 'em up, but there are some real limitations this year with the roster being what it is, especially without Cook. Sure, if Lance Jones and Trent Brown can shoot 3s like they did against UNI, they'll win a bunch more games, but this is still a team that struggles to get to 60 points most nights. Avoiding Thursday play in STL would be a heckuva achievement for this year.

I'm not denying any of that at all. I'm stating the team we see in late February, early March is going to be better than the team is now.
I get that they're limited as to what they are able to do based on their roster, but I can tell you, there's a way to beat the other guy on any day if your plan takes away what the other team does best, and so far, Bryan and company seem to be doing just fine in game planning.
I also believe, just as the players will be more comfortable and in tune with each other and better a month from now than they currently are, so too will be the coaching staff.
Not predicting a win, as all road games are fraught with dangers, but I don't think it's going to be a breeze for UNI either.
Shoot me, I'm drunk on the Kool-Aid. But I think this batch is some pretty good stuff. 😋

I really hate to be that guy buttttttttt
winning a game on the road would help some

This is a near perfect opponent to accomplish that against.
I can see the confidence growing and also the trust in each other. I think that the way the held on after the UNI run to pull the game out speaks volumes about the growth in that and maturity. It is moving along just like BM said at the beginning, getting better every practice, every day. I believe with this they will win some road games, Saturday being an excellent chance. I see floorburn U on the court again. What fun!

Reallyyyyy wish we got Evansville earlier than we did. Only opponent besides the Bears we haven’t played yet. Williams will be back at some point and they have to get some wins somewhere.
