I think a lot of these Day 2 games of back-to-backs will be grind it out basketball. Not a real sharp performance, and it could have been closer if North Dakota wasn't brutal at the line today, but no real drama. Got the win, stayed healthy, and on to a fun one on Monday in Indy.
Can't complain about the defense at all, but I'm sure Bryan isn't gonna be happy after that one. I think both teams looked pretty tired though. Have to play better at Butler if they want to have a shot there.
I really like Filewich's positioning on many of the rebounds. I imagine him next year with a little more speed, agility, mobility, etc. He could be a good one in the valley. I would like to see him go up and dunk every now and then but scoring is more important than how you do it I guess.
I am really pleased, as I honestly thought he was a "project" that we wouldn't see anything meaningful out of for a couple of years. Which could still be the case, but so far he looks better than I dared hope.

D'Avanzo and Filewich have been everything we could ask for in the paint. Anything we could get out of Dembele would be a bonus.
During this game I kept thinking about how Filewich would have been playing for a school 2.5 hours from his home if he had signed with North Dakota.
Amazing recruiting by the Mullins staff.
