So, Mr. Elgin has kindly responded to my email and notes they're "looking into it". I'm typing up a more detailed response so, did anyone watching on FSMW get the captioning? He noted he did not see any captioning on ATT Uverse, but he might not have seen the 1st half. Thanks.
If you're gonna reply to me in the forums, please quote what I wrote that you're replying to so I have a clue...thanks! 😀
I’m not trying to start something, but...
are the other valley teams playing with this in mind? Because I don’t feel like the other valley teams are playing with this in mind. They’re focused on winning and not treating this as a throwaway year.
Bow Em
We all need to settle down growing pains are to be expected let us all pull back from the ledge we have been thru worse times for us to remember the way Rich Herrin took over give BM time it will work out adversity builds character
I love it when there is logical, constructive criticism and people jump in saying "step away from the ledge". LOL Listen my friends, if you think that solely by having Mullins as our coach that this team will win the conference next year, GREAT for you. If you look at this team and see concerns and then know next year (being different as players do not have to move on) will probably be the same thing UNLESS changes are made, good for you too.
THERE IS NO LEDGE.............THIS IS BASKETBALL. I know people with cancer. I know people who are out of a job. And even that isn't ledge material. I believe several of the stated concerns are legitimate.
Hey, at least we won't have to worry about Mullins leaving for greener pastures any time soon.

I thought this was the only pasture Mullins would ever consider. His dream job, so to speak, coach at your Alma Mater where you played on some great teams and accomplished some great things. I hope he can bring back Floor-Burn U and all the excitement that comes with it. Not having a crowd to play for really hurts the feeling of loyalty to your university. It takes a special kind of player who will put it all on the line without the roar of the crowd in his ears. I think Mullins referring to "lets bring it back the way it was when I played" only goes so far. If BM and the coaches can continue to use that carrot successfully in these dark days, then hats off to them. But when you have lost six games in a row and your team has trouble winning games against the so called weak sisters of the league then there needs to be somebody stepping up and being the team leader. Seeing who distinguishes themselves and who does not will be of great interest to me for the rest of the season.

Our team, like all others, absolutely should not have thoughts like this. As competitors who've made it far enough to compete at the D1 level, I'd guarantee that collectively they're not thinking about anything beyond winning a game once the ball is tipped.
One thing I trust is Mullins judgement in character. I don't think this is the case, but if somehow there are individuals on this team that have mailed it in, I hope they get zero playing time from here on out and hopefully they aren't around next season.
My statement was purely from a fans perspective. Younger or older; losing is tough and can subconsciously effect your performance. From a players perspective, it might not even be obvious until a coach points it out to you on film, but just like winning is contagious, so is losing.
I think in our case, its also exacerbated by several factors; youth, back-to-backs, no fans, COVID layoffs etc. The difficulties pandemic basketball has presented a team trying to rebuild from the ground up within a much stronger MVC is something I believe is vastly understated and underappreciated. I think the current climate is different and much tougher for a young team trying to come together.
So, as a fan, I'm taking 20-21 with a grain of salt, appreciating growth where it happens, and looking forward to better days that seem much closer and more defined for this program than they have in many, many years.

When I heard Mullins was coming here, I assumed the same. It seemed like the perfect job and, if he brought the team back, I feel like he could make decent money here. Barkeep, however, had made a comment (NOT speculating anything at all) that he wouldn't begrudge Coach one bit if he moved on for a higher profile job and him being way more connected led me to believe that Mullins very well could move on if the offer was right. As I said in my post, however, we will not have to worry about that any time soon. This team will not finish above .500 this season and with many players being allowed to return next year, next season could be painfully similar to this one. So, I don't see him being considered for another position for at least 3-4 years from now.
@insaluki all I meant was calm down I am sure coach Mullins has a better feel for his team and what he needs to compete for the conference in the future and us fans not being supportive of the rebuilding helps no ond5
Not demanding the best from the team we support (including financially) and blindly accepting sub .500 basketball after 2 full seasons doesn't help anyone either. Just sayin...
Like I said, this is Basketball, nothing more and nothing less. Now that I have zero expectations for the remainder of the year, I assure you I'm as calm as I get.
@insaluki maybe with a 7 0 start maybe the expectations were to high also at this point last year the team had played 22 games and numerous practices this team probably hasn't had 22 practices they will get better if they don't have any more virus interruptions I also want more but I am a realist

Hey now I have said nothing of the sort. All I said was we have Brennan if Bryan moves on. That was my only statement
I haven't read today's thread yet, but I'm guessing the comments are more positive than these. I think everyone on here has a valid take. We are not very good this year. Domask and Jones are the only bonafide studs on the team currently. I like what we've seen of Freshmen Filewich & Banks. I believe we may have overhyped the D2 transfers moving up. Not to worry, they have all been recruited over already. Ebube, D'Amico, & Wonders are going to be a VERY good recruiting class.
