I wouldn't expect him to answer the question, but I don't think he will be around long. He is .500 coach and the shelf life on his opportunity is about 12 months. I don't buy his "awe shucks" routine any more than I buy it from Huck. A multi-million dollar offer and a chance to play in front of more than 1,200 people every game will free him from Loyola. I don't blame him. Maybe the fans in Omaha start to get restless with McDermott after next season and he makes the jump. I doubt he would hesitate to take over at SLU either.
I don't expect either of those jobs to be open next year.
Is there even a job open that he would take? Rhode Island is probably the best job out there. My guess is his agent is telling him to play coy to try and get a nice payday out of this from Loyola.
Unless URI goes Catholic and the Illinois wolves move to Boston I'm guessing no. 😆

I’m guessing that Moser remains at Loyola after a significant raise and contract extension.
I'm guessing you're right. Wonder how long the contract would be?
Good point that there aren't really any openings; I'm just saying that Moser is on the radar now. It would have to be a pretty sweet deal for him to leave Loyola, based on what some posters have said about his background/connections, which I guess is good news for the Valley.

I heard the radio interview this morning and the quote on here is every bit as legit as it sounded coming from his mouth. But my first thought was, he's playing Loyola for money. Unless there's a job ready to open if he accepts, he's not going anywhere.
I think Loyola steps up and pays Moser. My guess is he'll be the 1st or 2nd highest paid coach in the MVC, when it's said and done. That may not keep him at Loyola long term, but it will keep him around for at least next season, would be my guess.
If I had to guess at schools that could lure porter away, it'd be creighton or Marquette. Illinois would have a shot but I don't think his Catholic roots can be overstated. Sister jean isn't moving with him to the public school ranks.
Loyola will dig deep and likely keep him. But if anyone assumes Mullins will stay because porter stays, I think that's a mistake.

For Porter to leave doesn't a bigger job need to open up? Depaul may open but I am not sure he would want that job unless it pays a ton more. A much tougher job than he currently has 🤔

There's usually a few moves in the upper levels that cause a chain reaction. I don't think the FBI thing is anywhere near a conclusion either, that's going to be a factor.

I think Moser going elsewhere would be foolish for both him and whatever school hired him. Moser has made 1 NCAA tournament and I believe 0 NIT in what a 15 year career? Yea he made a great run in that one trip but if you are a big name school do you really want to roll the dice that this is a sign of things to come? And for Moser why leave a school which can pay you well and frankly after this run is never ever going to fire you for somewhere that won't wait 6 years for you to make a run

I think it's a lot smarter for Moser to get his money now while his name is hot than for a school to hire him based on one tournament run.

Loyola is a rich private school, he can get money and job security. What's better 1.5 million for 3 years or 900k for as long as you want?
Didn't shaka smart take VCU to a final four as an 11 seed, and stay for like four years after that? I like porter but shaka is probably twice the coach he is.

Logic doesn't work on posters here. Many are still baffled why WSUs coach didn't flee to Alabama or Texas.
