We did what we were supposed to do.
Chi State next. The Bewley twins are suing the NCAA - don't blame them - but I doubt they'll be back anytime soon. I think they very well could win their lawsuit and play later in the season though.
Chicago State is gonna have 2 more games under their belt before next Thursday's game. Sunday @ Southern Indiana and Tuesday at home against Cal State Northridge. Already 0-2 on the year with a blowout at Bowling Green and close loss at home vs Mercer.
Really encouraging game. Several guys playing good ball. Credit to Mullins for having a team with a lot of new and inexperienced guys ready to perform from the jump, especially with three guys unavailable.
Need to see it against good teams, but so far they’ve been a really fun watch.
Looking good so far! One thing about Wonders and the comments about his use… I wanted him used differently but Stulic is a different player than him. He drives. He plays defense. There is a reason he gets used like this and Wonders didn’t. I love what I’m seeing this far!
Queens is bad, but that was a good performance by SIU. Good effort on both sides of the ball.
I was glad that AJ had a good game. He looked good attacking the basket in the 2nd half.
Good games for Ebube and Rupert. I sat close to the court and couldn’t help but notice how much fun Rupert was having out there. I’ve never seen a player look so happy while playing.
He didn’t score tonight, but I really like Trey Miller’s game. I think he’s going to be really good for us. Only a sophomore, but poised and good with the ball. He looks like a player.
The game is a little fast for Davis, but SIU doesn’t need him to be ready right now.
Fun game. Loved being back at the arena. Still a special place.
Davis’ motor is really something. Really active and disruptive defensively. There’s a reason he’s getting substantial minutes right away over a veteran like McGee.
I think Kennard's defense is good enough right now to get him at least 12 minutes a night. I really don't get why he didn't get in at the end. Would have been nice to see him get a basket to boost his confidence a bit on the offensive end in garbage time.
You know it was a good night when that's my only complaint.
23 assists to only 7 turnovers. That's gotta be one of the better ratios of Mullins' tenure so far
from where I was sitting and looking at Davis late with a towel around his shoulders and talking to the medical staff he appeared to not be feeling well but that is purely speculation on my part also is there an update about the young man from Queens who was injured on a hustle play in the 2nd half and went straight to the locker roomI think Kennard's defense is good enough right now to get him at least 12 minutes a night. I know the competition hasn't been top notch thru 2 gamed but I have already seen improvement from game 1 to game 2 also it seems this team is a little more athletic than past teams also there seems to be more depth defense needs to be better without fouling rebounding seems better but the offensive flow and ball movement and uptempo push to get easy shots in the shot clock is a pleasant surprise also love the intensity I think this team will improve weekly and be a major force in the Valley come February

Doesn’t Stulic have another year left? He only played in 4 games last year which suggests a redshirt.
