This is how crazy rumors start. Harvey is not going anywhere just kill that now

I simply asked a question over something I was curious about I was not starting a rumor

If you're smart, you'll do as barkeep requested.

Understood, no more discussing SIU players on the SIU player discussion thread

Don’t be a child

i guess my post was a little harsh so sorry about that. We are just not going to let silly guesses and Rumors take root. We have no issue discussing players as long as it is not unwarranted  personal attacks.

At this time there has been nothing about Ben going anywhere. There are a couple guys who may not come back. Ben is not one of them.

All good. I apologize that my post seemed like I was trying to make a silly guess or whatever, should have worded it better

I was kinda surprised nobody pressed me on who was leaving 😁. We honestly don’t know who yet but if you fo the math it will be at least 2

As fans I understand the need to speculate about players and their future whether they are currently on the roster or incoming freshmen but I believe that it would be naive of anyone to think players or their families don't read this thread so in my humble opinion I think it would be best to let the coaches comment on the players coming or going or the future as I believe they have a better feel of what they need than us rabid fans who only want the best for everyone

Of course we’d love to know 😉... I think most have a good guess. I would be surprised if it was anyone other than the two most mentioned.

Yes, just be patient. We'll all know at some point and until then speculation can do more harm than good.

Yes to the above.  Coaches know what they are doing and we need to have the faith in trust them.  I have no doubt in my mind that this coaching staff will always do the right thing by the players and families they are working with.  Trying to read things in the future is not productive really or helpful for anyone.  I would go a step further and say some of the expert analysts on this board might be better off keeping their expert individual analysis of individual players to themselves sometimes.  That's just my 2 cents worth and don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but if the people on here are professionals then start your own blog.

From Hefferman:

https://thesouthern.com/sports/college/salukimania/urgent-need-pushed-salukis-to-unveil-fundraising-campaign-during-pandemic/article_f996b91e-937d-5360-aadb-2bd9b40699c4.html

Unlike a capital campaign, which attempts to raise money for additional projects, Salukis Forever is to help maintain the standards for the program's 17 sports. SIU has an urgent need to raise money toward additional scholarships next fall for seniors who want to return for a fifth, or even sixth year through an NCAA rule passed during the early months of the coronavirus pandemic. The Saluki men's basketball team has a full roster for the 2021-22 season, for example, with 10 players that are either freshmen, sophomores or juniors and three incoming recruits. If graduate transfers Anthony D'Avanzo and Jakolby Long want to come back this winter, Jarnigan said as of now, the team will have to fundraise in order to pay for their scholarships.

Not surprising that the need is there.  At least they are putting forth the info and requesting help.

I wonder if D'Avanzo is planning on staying then.  I'd say it would be nice to have him as an extra player, especially since he doesn't take up a scholarship.

Mullins plays things pretty close to the vest, per the usual, but says he is expecting less roster turnover this offseason than for his first two teams and expressed optimism about Muila making an impact going forward.

Trying to read between the lines a little bit. When Reis asked about needing to recruit a wing Mullins mentioned we had a good core group to build from and the folks he mentioned were Domask, Jones, Filewich, Verplancken, Harvey, Banks, Brown and Muila. He did not name Dembele or Butler. He also reiterated that if D'Avanzo and Long came back it would not count against the 13 scholarships. He said he would meet with all players when they return to school including D'Avanzo and Long. I just don't see Long coming back given his role, but D'Avanzo certainly could. Mullins said he expects Muila to play a significant role moving forward because he has skills we are lacking. With the 3 incoming freshman we would have 2 open rides should Butler and Dembele not come back. I would imagine we would use those for an experienced, athletic PG and 6'6" - 6'7" wing. If we can add 2 impact transfers at those positions and not lose anyone Mullins mentioned I'll be pretty fired up for next year!

That is sad news, he has a very close family, prayers for them all.
