It’s unfortunate because Butler uprooted himself from Florida to come to SIU during the middle of a worldwide pandemic. He seems like a good kid and I hope he goes somewhere where he gets playing time and development.

Alright I’m already fired up for the fall. Domask looks like he put on some muscle!

A couple things I noticed from the video. Lance Jones referenced all the starters coming back. The players I saw that were taking part in the individual workouts and were on video included: Domask, Harvey, Verplancken, D'Avanzo, Banks, Jones, Muila and Filewich. I think that is a good indication that all those players will be back. Players I didn't see included Brown, Long and Dembele. Of course, those players not shown may have had class or some other commitment during the filming. I would be very surprised if Brown wasn't back. Long and Dembele would be bigger question marks due to the injuries they have had to deal with that have limit their mobility and stamina, and the limited amount of playing time they had last year. Regardless, all indications point to all the core players being back.
I was worried coming into this crazy offseason where transfers are so easy that we would see our share, particularly among some of our key guys who may have been disappointed with the way the season played out. But so far it looks like I was wrong, and that video gives me confidence in the fact that the players have bought into Mullins' vision.
I'm really excited for next year. Especially excited to see the step up our front court should take: Filewich, a healthy Domask and Mulia, another year of D'Avanzo, and add in Ebube. Should be pretty solid.
Terrific video. The comments of the players show what type of program and culture the coaching staff is building and it is a exciting to hear. Also the ability to have continuity going forward. Looking forward to next year and seeing the new guys absorbed into this. The future is bright.
I would think at this point of putting out this video that Eric Butler will be the only transfer with that being said things always change but one thing seems certain the current players are bought in to the future and the future looks bright
I’ve said this before, but it can’t be overstated: the season is the easy part; you roll the ball out and go! Programs are built in the offseason. It’s the 6am workouts, the study halls that build discipline and team chemistry - that’s the bread and butter.
As a side note, JD Muila is going to crack some skulls! Dude is a physical specimen!
Looks like Jakolby Long isn't returning:

While this does not open a scholarship, it does answer the question that a former Grad-Transfer will be allowed to transfer for their Covidyear.
With that knowledge, what are the chances that Aaron Cook would return to SIU for his Covidyear? Any thoughts on how that would play out in Carbondale?

I personally would love Cook back but I'd guess the coaching staff isn't interested on someone that bailed for a season (even if he was well within his right to do so). And a guy they never recruited in the first place.

There is zero chance Cook transfers back to SIU. However, I am hearing he is planning on transferring from Gonzaga and that the most likely schools are Mizzou or SLU.
Barring a shocking transfer I think only one possible current player move remains. I think the possibility remains that Dembele leaves due to the ongoing mobility issues that have resulted from previous injuries, or a desire for more playing time somewhere else. He has certainly been a team player and good citizen, but with centers Filewich, Muila and Ebube all here next year, he may be looking at a very limited role. If Dembele leaves we'll sign 2 players, if he stays we'll sign 1. I think SIU will sign a transfer PG, wing/forward or both depending upon if we have 1 ride or 2.
