I'm planning to make the 3.5 hr drive south from Columbus to see the Salukis play in one of the mecca's of college basketball. Looks like the Hilton and Hyatt are already booked up (closest to the arena), so I reserved a room at the Holiday Inn which is still pretty close.

Anyone else making the trip?  Does anyone know if tickets for SIU fans will be made available by SIU Alumni Association or SIU Athletics?

We will be there for certain.  We will likely stay at one of the hotels out on Man'O War (Exit 108 off I64).

I'll be the one wearing a Blue & Grey Golf shirt with the letters U and K on the upper left side over a maroon long sleeve T-shirt.

Or maybe the maroon T-shirt that says "SAVE SIU BASKETBALL.  FIRE HINSON.  NOW".  If I get one made I'm going to spend a few extra dollars (or more likely not) for a seat right behind the Dawgs' bench.

I'm trying to get  seat right behind the Dawgs

Go Dawgs!

Goodness! You must be fit to be tied these days!  😀

Anyway...

It's hilarious to me that we are in such a state of mediocrity that there is debate about whether to schedule Kentucky. This is a senior-heavy team, likely the best BH has fielded at SIU, and there seems to be some fear that they will be utterly humiliated to the point that it will be a turnoff to future recruits. That says a lot.

Year 7 and we're Chicago State.

Definitely want to try and make it.  Not expecting much of a game but seems like the perfect time to check out Rupp Arena.

I wish I didn't have to be in Cleveland on the 11th... Would have loved to go see a game at a top 25 facility and atmosphere.

Tickets are on sale now.  Not sure if I should buy now or wait for the secondary market?

I think since it is UK's home opener, it will be a very popular game, therefore probably safer to buy tickets now.

Personally, I wanted to sit in the lower bowl and missed the on-sale time yesterday and the lower bowl sold out (or was already sold out to season ticket holders).  I'm hoping to somehow find 2 lower bowl tickets around face value (or even a little bit higher) prior to the game.  Right now, secondary market doesn't look to be much of a value for those.

Hinson announced last night that the game was sold out, I believe that includes Saluki allotment too. It’s possible I may have misunderstood.

I checked pretty much right when they went on sale and they only had tickets behind the basket available in the lower level

I don't know about the SIU allotment but I and a colleague (UK alum) were unable to call the ticket office right after it opened and were told it was sold out.  We were trying to buy 4 seats adjacent or close by; he was told there was a smattering of single seats all in upper bowl.   We'll be looking at the stub hub market for fairly priced tix.  Otherwise we'll grab a table at Pazzo's Pizza during the game.

Go Dawgs!

Which row/seat are you in? I'm looking at section 231 also. Would be nice to sit next to fellow Saluki fan.

SIU was only given a few tickets for family and friends of the team.  No tickets were given to sell directly from the ticket office to SIU fans.  Ticket office said all tickets had to be purchased through Kentucky.

Bummer!
