Mullins better start pulling out all those plays he's been saving for this game.

@buckeyedawg

he shot twice..missed both.

Banks 1 - 4, Harvey 0 - 2, Verplancken has not shot.

Jones 5 - 9, way too many TOs...trying  to do too much because he's getting no help on the offense.

Loyola plays great D, according to Mullins.

I guess I'm a glutton for punishment, as I decide to pop back into SalukiInsider for the first time in a billion years for THIS game?  I knew the odds were long, but geez, those last 15 minutes were ug-lee.

But hey, it's not often I can watch Saluki games on TV here in Chicagoland, so I'll keep the tube on until they're down 20, then go take a nap or something.

I'm not expecting much this weekend, just hoping for good efforts and not to get completely blown out.  Despite the lack of scoring, I liked the effort in the first half.  Although I do think if they struggle again like that, Loyola might end up winning by 25+.

Drake loses Hemphill and Penn and Sophomore Joseph Yesufu steps up.  It's really disappointing to me that SIU hasn't really had anyone step up and take the lead like Domask did.  I was expecting Ben Harvey to be that guy.

 Yeah, two shitty shots. Nobody needs Trent Brown doing his little back to the basket post up moves. It’s non effective as the other team doesn’t need to double team a small player. I asked where we are with actually drawing up plays for him to shoot an open 3. He’s a great shooter only when his feet are set.

Even with Domask and Muila healthy next year and the Freshmen coming in, this team has a lot of work to do in the offseason if they want to even be competitive with the top of the MVC.  There's just not enough guys that can score consistently that can pick up the load besides Domask.  Really would love to see Harvey, Banks, Brown become better scorers.  Dalton Banks does things that I love and I think he can be a great player but he hasn't really been able to take over games.

Props to Verplancken, he's somewhat keeping SIU in this game like Jones did in the first half

Oh no.  Don't want to see Cameron Krutwig down holding his leg.

The injuries to top guys in the league have been sickening.

Credit the Dawgs for keeping in this one... but those 17 turnovers are brutal.  I know Loyola's a damn fine team on defense this year, but a number of SIU turnovers are just dribbling into spots where you get stuck and have nowhere to go.

Still, it's a game!  Only down 7 with 7 minutes to go here.  Stay hot from the arc here and who knows?

Filewich is struggling like he did in the first Valpo game with shots he usually makes at the rim

Much of it is waiting waaaay too long to get into any attacking mode and then being screwed at the end of the clock.

With Krutwig on the sidelines, you have to keep feeding Filewich now until he gets doubled, and then fire away from that arc.
