Credit the Dawgs for keeping in this one... but those 17 turnovers are brutal.  I know Loyola's a damn fine team on defense this year, but a number of SIU turnovers are just dribbling into spots where you get stuck and have nowhere to go.

Still, it's a game!  Only down 7 with 7 minutes to go here.  Stay hot from the arc here and who knows?

Much of it is waiting waaaay too long to get into any attacking mode and then being screwed at the end of the clock.

This is what Loyola does well though.  They grind out possessions on defense.

Verplancken has been the best SIU player on the court tonight.

Filewich has missed some 2-foot bunnies in this one.  That, along with Jones being outta control too much, is costing us late here.

And Jones with his EIGHTH turnover... well, this was fun while it lasted, and it lasted much longer than I thought it was going to go... but damn, take care of the ball here and this could've been a REAL close one at the end.

We should have won this game. The offense down the stretch is pathetic. Awful design, awful execution. They look poorly coached tonight if we are being honest.

Jones has really broken down here. Got to think he’s feeling overwhelmed with minimal offensive support around him.

Filewich didn't have a great game.  Would have been nice if he took advantage of Krutwig being out and hit some of those close shots.  Wouldn't be surprised if he's tiring down with the length of the season though.  He's taken on a much bigger load as a Freshmen than anyone could have expected.

That's almost crazy to think - beating a ranked team at their place with such a young team - but yep, this was QUITE winnable.

What are we doing in the final 5 minutes not getting into sets until there is about 12 seconds left? I can’t even begin to understand what was going on offensively. My mind is blown with the ineptitude. How many shot clock violations did we have? How many unforced turn overs do we commit?

Loyola has done this to teams the entire season

Not sure why KF is in down the stretch...he’s been struggling today. Has a good mismatch down low but can’t convert on the point blank shots or FTs. Every time we got close, our offensive execution has let us down. Do Turnovers count towards a double double...if so Jones is close. He’s been put in some bad situations late in the shot clock, but just as many have been his own doing. They hung in tough today...I think if we were going to steal one it would have been today. I expect a beat down tomorrow when they start knocking down their 3’s

Hope the ending of this game gives Trent Brown some confidence going forward

@saluki-4-life man just go join the drake bandwagon. Loyola has done his to every team all year.  Losing a game at Loyola by less than 10 this year is a moral victory.

I just can't get too worked up about this team this year.  Things were going to be difficult once Domask went out.  I see good things going forward.
