You guys ever miss being mad that it wasn’t pretty enough when we won? Ahhh the good ole days.
I don't care, it's a lost season already. Rather see the team salvage the rest of the season and help build a culture going forward

culture lol… we had that.
While I find the glorifying of a pretty disappointing Mullins era redundant and pretty off base, at least you care enough to be obnoxious.
We could be Northern Illinois or Western Illinois or Eastern Illinois and not have fans who care.
Let’s see what kind of effort we get on Saturday night.
I’m not glorifying anything. SIU and Carbondale is a hell hole. The peak is having a team that has a chance and competes their butts off. We aren’t going back to 2006. People don’t get it, so what we had wasn’t good enough… ironically what we had in the Mullins era is probably the height of SIU basketball now, albeit some MVCT success (which would have come) will be the only difference.

realism.
Just go back in your hole until the next game when you will come out and slam the coach because you are butthurt that Mullins was fired because he wasn't ready to be a head coach. Funny how you only post about how bad the coach and team are and how bad of a hire it was. You have absolutely nothing to offer and only have an agenda. You sir are a douche bag.You guys ever miss being mad that it wasn’t pretty enough when we won? Ahhh the good ole days.

Hey, if you’re gonna trash SIU and Carbondale get the F off the board. Seriously. F off.

Good effort in the 2nd half. Effort has been missing at times that's for sure. Hopefully we learned a lot tonight. Have to figure it out defensively. We need to spread the floor better like we did tonight and let Dibba and to a lesser extent Davis drive to the basket. Somehow our interior D has to get better. Nagy doesn't play zone so it has to get better some other way. Encouraging, but we need to win games.
Great effort tonight both halves and these guys proved they can play with anyone in the MVC with this kind of energy and effort.
Played much better D, especially 2nd half.
Shame a questionable call on JF and Steffe won the game for them.
Saturday we get our first win at home against Mo State.
I want to preface my comment by stating that I thought this was the best game we’ve played in some time…now what defense were you watching that was good?
They scored 90 points and shot 53%/39% from the field. Got to the line 20 times. Out rebounded us by almost 10 (gave up 1.23 ppp). Whatever metric you want to look at, they didn’t play much better. It’s about par for the course. How many baskets did we give up in transition after a made fucking basket? People not knowing who they are guarding? Not getting back fast enough or stopping the ball?
I liked the overall effort, we finally shot the ball at a decent clip, but we won’t have very many more offensive games like that this year if history is any indication… and still we lost. I don’t want to be too down right now given what we’ve seen prior to this game, but the defense is still not good. Better than we’ve been playing I guess, but that bar was pretty damn low.

They need to get Aligbe going to help with the interior D as there aren’t many good options. Seemed like he’s been regressing the past few weeks but showed some life tonight.
Mo State has that undersized but burly big who will be a presence down low over the next four halves.

I don’t disagree with this but the only thing I’ll say is Belmont at home dices most defenses up, game after game and season after season.
But no doubt the defense and rebounding has to tighten up to beat anyone in the MVC. And Dibba and Davis need to continue to look more like they did in the second half.
