Man I love listening to Reis get excited over the Dawgs. He makes the game so much more fun. He sounds like the Reis we were listening to when Bryan Mullins was playing.

I was thinking the same thing: he hasn't sounded that stoked in years, probably about 12 years, to be precise.

Can you imagine how hard it must have been for him during the previous regime? Even when we were winning it was boring.

I am posting this because we almost got Muller when Hinson was hired, the thought being we needed someone with experience from the academic probation hell we were on the verge of entering. The Turds are none too happy with Muller, guess it was a "choose your poison" situation for us!

Didn't have TV so listened to Mike...almost as good as watching! Loved his post-game interviews with Bryan and Marcus!

On ESPN+, I turn off the Onion and turn on the Reis. Have to do a little fooling once in a while to keep it synced, but it's worth it!

Thank God we didn't hire that Turd! Can't stand him!

Filewich only had 2 points but he got some key RBs and had a nice block while playing some good D in what I want to say will be his most minute so far.

Brown and Domask were great but Filewich was seriously the unsung hero in the first half.  So many huge minutes, especially on the defensive end.

He also had the most awkward spin move I have ever seen late in the game lol. Like, he basically had a straight line to the hoop after but was so shocked that move worked he just passed it off.

Can Filewich dunk ?   I have yet to see it.  He's going to REALLY need to work on his FT shooting the next couple of years, but he has shown so much improvement already in just 6 games.  I bet he'd kick Garza's butt......... okay just messing around but still.  Great job !!!

Reis said during the game that in practice they are pushing Kyler to dunk more instead of lay it in. More of a sure thing!

What a fun win! That felt like a throwback Saluki win for sure.

When Lance Jones is playing under control, he is so fun to watch. We needed everything he had, because Harvey definitely didn't have it tonight.

We're finally seeing the Trent Brown who Mullins recruited!

Domask is a star.

Does anyone know if this actually was a buy game, as Rothstein indicated on Twitter? I have not seen anywhere else that SIU got paid to play this game.

I thought that usually when a team played on the road without a return game or a 2 for 1 deal is typically a buy game.  So I'd assume yes?

I don't think you can assume anything this year. The impression I get is that teams are scrambling to find other teams to play, given all the cancellations and postponements.

@insaluki I did not mean Lance Brown, who was a Saluki many moons ago, but Lance Jones, of course. I think you got the gist of it. 😊 Lance Jones had a good, solid game against Butler.  As the season progresses, I hope some more of the young guards get some playing time.  It must be quite a balancing act for Mullins, or any D1 coach, to keep all players interested in the program despite not getting the kind of playing time they had at the lower level. Hopefully, they can all see how developing a good team necessitates sharing of minutes and that everybody's role is important, whether it is game time or practice.

@mr_woogers I am beginning to think Connor Onion is going to be a very fine announcer. There are certainly far worse I have heard in the Valley TV Broadcasts.  But yeah...syncing Reiss's sound with ESPN video is a match made in heaven.

If anyone has time to read the Butler forum (butlerhoops.com), I'd recommend it.  We really ruffled some feathers there.  They have a whole thread about whether the 59 game streak is worth crying over.

I do not believe it was. It was a day both teams had open to play a game. That’s it

Definitely a team effort and great to see Brown shoot it with confidence and play tough D. He has greatly improved from last year. Mullins thought Jones played a really good game, just one out-of-control sequence. Jones made some excellent passes and once again had a bunch of assists. Leads the team in steals and assists.

We beat a good team on the road with two of our better players having an off night!
