I had family obligations today so unfortunately missed tv and radio broadcast but was able to find 1 highlight an it was of X knocking a the ball away diving for it twice being successful all of this with 20 seconds left in a 10 point game this play sums up this Saluki team and X and that is all that needs to be said
Think it was even more telling how beat up X was all game which you can't see by the clip. He still was out there laying it all out.
Yes. That play caused me to jump up and shout Floor Burn U baby! Within a minute I received a text from a friend that read “Floor Burn U!” X is the personification of that term. Incorrect. A post that includes the phrase “we all think” is groupthink. But pointing out that X is hurting is groupthink! At least that’s what I’m told. God willing we can scrap a win against a not very good UE team and get out with a win.
Ever heard the phrase “both things can be true?” There’s groupthink on both sides of this debate. Also maybe specify what post you refer to because I never said people all thought one thing about X on here.
Great game yesterday all things considered. Congrats to all!Yes. That play caused me to jump up and shout Floor Burn U baby! Yes, my wife and I both said, "Floor Burn U!" at the same time. TB's reaction to X's hustle was classic too.
Previous poster mentioned the intangibles SE brings to the games/paint and it's so evident. If he ever gets into tip top shape, I pity the opposition.
One thing I've noticed the past few games is, he no longer puts the ball on the floor when he catches a down low pass. He just shoots or dunks. All season long he has been dribbling before he shoots, and either trips up or gets it blocked or stolen. It had been driving me crazy and was hoping the coaches would get him to stop that instinctive move. Definitely getting better.
March on triumphantly!
Dawgbytes couldn't be referencing a post that said "we all think" on this thread because none existed on this thread before he said it. Closest was Rockin Dawg's "we all got called out" but that isn't the same as "we all think".
"We all got called out" was a reference to only us "boobirds" who had the audacity to point out that XJ hasn't been himself lately. 🤣
I'm not even sure what the debate was. But if it's between "is he hurt" or "is he worn down" I'm in total agreement with you, Fraydog. BOTH can be true (and are).

My theory is he read way too much into comments made in the heat of the moment when we were in a dogfight. Thankfully we closed the game out.
Tired hurt he is slumping or any combination of factors can be contributing to X having subpar shooting but his overall stats are still good but the play at the end of the game with nothing on the line shows how tough he is because all caution to the wind to make the play and also maybe things will go back in X's favor because of all the contributions coming from other players stepping up I wouldn't want to play us now
A win Saturday gets us the 4 seed. 2 wins this week most likely gets us the 3 seed. Lose both and we’re probably 5-6. Crazy week ahead!
Not to nitpick but the UNI game is Sunday afternoon at 1:00. All of the Valley teams play on Sunday to finish out the regular season.

I haven't heard this discussed, but I'm guessing they went to Sunday finales across the league the last couple years due to TV slot availability? It probably would be better for the teams to finish on Saturday like they used to, in order to allow for more rest/prep time leading up to Arch Madness, especially with most teams now having to start on Thursday. It's a pretty quick turnaround now with finishing on Sunday and then having to head to St. Louis rather quickly.
Also would be better for the fans to have more time to know when their team is playing.
At the risk of having brickbats thrown my way . . .
Just curious: did anyone besides me think that Dan Muller was good with his color work on ESPN+ yesterday?
I hated the guy as both a player and a coach, but I found myself grudgingly admitting that I thought he did a good job. He was surprisingly charming, if at times a bit self-aggrandizing.
(Inflammatory political snark)
I agree about Mueller I have thought that the last two times he has done our games. I don't know if it because he is good or the others are so bad, but it seems okay.

I like him. He just oozes Midwest, MVC hoops, and he seems like he’s getting more comfortable in the role. Certainly knows the dynamics of the league well, and I think he’s a good guy.
