I think fans get way too caught up in who is and isn't starting. That doesn't mean a thing. Its no more important than any other rotation that is on the floor during a game. Its who is playing the most that matters and Trent hasn't been playing much for a while now. His minutes are way way down over the last 8-9 games. He is starting yes, but he isn't playing much. Not to beat a dead horse, but Brown did not play a single minute in the 2nd half. So......................2 things. 1. He did not win the game for us (bc he would have been blamed for the loss somehow). 2. I am all for the trust in Coach stuff, but I still have to question why Brown is still starting. If it was senior night, okay but right now Trent is beyond struggling and he is such a team player, I don't think he'd mind coming off the bench, as he just wants to win. Perhaps we'll see just that for the rest of the season.
Btw, Illinois State is not a gimme. Dawgs better strap it on early on defense. They’ve got some athletes

I do agree that people are scapegoating Trent a bit too much but there's also no reason he should be starting right now outside of charity for being a Senior. I'm not attributing the bad starts specifically to him but play your best guys at the beginning of games.
@g-man haha. a lot of ref blaming there, the officiating was horrible but certainly not for them. siu wins by 15 if the officiating crew wasnt so bogus in my opinion

In general I agree but when you’re consistently digging substantial holes in the first 5-10 minutes of the game, it’s time to shake something up, and in this case there’s an obvious move to be made.
He played 5 minutes at UNI, and 4 minutes tonight. Brown is not playing hardly at all, yet people still are ripping him on here. I don't get it. Many times starting is a reward for hard work and leadership in practice. Brown is likely looked at by the coaches and the other players as a leader and earns his starts off working hard in practice. I don't have a problem with that being the criteria for who starts at all.I think fans get way too caught up in who is and isn't starting. That doesn't mean a thing. Lemme just say in a bleak first half I enjoyed seeing Ebube block a shot and draw two fouls in like a 2-minute span. Yes, I know he’s a bad FT shooter.

Agreed. I have, for 4 years, been one of Trent's biggest supporters...to a fault. He remains the FIRST guy off the bench to cheer and/or support his teammates or pat them on the back when they've made a mistake. I also know it's who finishes vs who starts that is the most important thing, but I felt tonight's game (with 2 straight wide open misses) was impacted by his starting. I remain a big fan of his on a personal basis though.
😝😝😝😝We cool now? 😂

Can you imagine a 1st half equivalent to the first half in the last four games, omg,
Not taking away from anything but this team has some firepower if they can put two halves together
I meant the first half equivalent to the 2nd half
With that said, congrats guys, keep it up and you are going to rock the MVC this year.
