Considering everything this team has gone thru this season especially the last 3 weeks this is was a tremendous effort and hats off to coaching staff would like a win but I will take the effort the future is bright for this team and I give credit to Lance to take the shot and a chance to rebound and any play can change a game it is just magnified at the end of the game
Jones played a great game, but panicked on the last play. Verplacken had a decent look after the rebound and dish from D'Avanzo. Salukis played well, but the late offensive rebounds leading to 2nd chance points Indy State got killed us, and was the difference. Also, I thought the officiating was really bad! Filewich played really well in limited, foul trouble minutes. Verplacken played one of his better games also, but his shots weren't falling late. I'm afraid it will be a very uphill battle tomorrow, as we will be very tired after covid created lack of conditioning.
I'm sorry, but that last play was horrible and a terrible decision. There were still 7 seconds left when he threw that "shot" up. Wow.
Not BM's best coaching night, to be sure. Even with the lack of players.
March on triumphantly!

I guarantee Jones shooting the shot he took at the end was not what was drawn up. Mullins coached a good game, can't find fault in anything that comes to mind. have to disagree strongly with the Mullins critique.
Lance was to penetrate and kick it out. BM said he thinks that Lance have thought they were in the process of fouling him.

You can talk about the miscues in the last couple minutes (inbound violation with two timeouts was brutal), but the extended drought in the second half (nine straight empty possessions?) hurt worse. After Verplancken’s hot first half, it was pretty much Jones or bust on offense, except when Filewich could stay on the floor, which wasn’t often enough.
Giving up too many open 3s and too many offensive rebounds to the Sycs also were costly. The rebounding issues are well-documented but they have to clean up some of the rotations and get out on shooters.
That said, Southern played with a lot of heart and a lot of grit, and they were in position to beat a decent team without Domask, so it’s a tough one to take.
Need to win tomorrow or playing on Thursday we will be very likely.

Think they were headed for Thursday even before Domask got hurt

Thank you, Yoda.
We will be a Thursday Night team, but our conference record won't be a true representation of the progress we made this year. Next year we get arguably the best infusion of talent of any team in the MVC. Assuming Muila and Domask come back healthy, we should have a break-out season and many more to come.

He's not talking about coaching..just ripping Lance. No surprise there.

Definitely a wild shot and he definitely got fouled...refs weren't about to call it. Verplancken then got a great look but didn't hit it. Overall Jones played a great, but certainly not perfect, game. Some spectacular moves. Kept us in it. He also torched them last year if I remember correctly.
Thought our D was quite good first half. Also saw some promising play by Filewich.
