I feel pretty silly for getting all excited. This team needs a lot of players to come in and contribute next year. Not sure about the future; not nearly as hyped/confident as the rest of you are. Wish I felt different.
This year is pretty much a wash with COVID and the Domask injury. Best case now is starting a run in St. Louis on Thursday like Drake did last year and carrying that over into next season.
This team is young but I think the grace period needs to stop next year. They're gonna have to start competing in the Valley. They've lost 11 of 12 after this one.
If Domask is done for the season, is it too late for him to redshirt?

Need help inside. There are 2 guys coming in next year.
need an athletic wing. There is one coming in next year.
not to mention with Domask SIU probably wins both of these games
relax
I don't get how Eric Butler can't get any minutes in this game really. It's been over for at least 10 minutes and he's not gonna play one minute?
Edit: And now he's in

No not yet but it is possible
this year does not count so no need for a redshirt
ISU Blue 71
SIU 59
Final
Leading scorer: Trent Brown with 12
Leading rebounder: Kyler Filewich with 9
Very apparent this team is off kilter. All about next year at this point.
The Muila injury, layoffs, MD injury, Covid, double games etc. This season is a practice run. The future is going to be fun.
March on triumphantly!
Great fight in the dawgs down to the end tonight. They just didn't have the legs and that is very understandable. This team has been snake bit from before the season started with the loss of Mulia. He was supposed to be the answer at the 5. 24th ranked juco recruit for 2020! Turned what would have most likely been a strength at center into a huge hole. Bright side is Filewich developed faster because of it and will be a strong backup to Mulia next year. Ebube is also supposed to be a stud coming in as a freshman at center. Not sure why folks are so pessimistic about the future. We should be deep and talented next year. The 3 freshman recruits are strong! Our core is strong with Domask, Jones, Banks, Harvey, Filewich and Brown. I think Verplancken has a big upside and we have depth even if he is a role player. 90% of our scoring is from frosh and sophomores! That is 2nd only to Alabama A & M out of 352 D1 teams!!!! Our one glaring hole moving forward with what we already have next year is a 6'5"-6'7" athletic wing, and it sounds like we are in on a couple athletic wings via juco and grand transfer. I would guess we will not grant D'Avanzo and Long the extra year and will have to let one other current player go to open it up for that needed wing. Most likely candidates would be Dembele or Butler.
Step off the ledge, the future is bright!!!

I couldn't agree more.

Scotty Ebube, Troy D'Amico, Foster Wonders, JD Muila, & possibly one more....you are going to get your wish.
Drake just had by far their worst half of their season following the same covid layoff we had, and they didn't lose their best player. I think it shows just how hard of a layoff and circumstances it is to come back from and compete. Would have been very nice to win game one, but I think the very young dawgs represented themselves fairly well considering. They played hard until the buzzer in both games.

No doubt that the layoff adversely affected both SIU and Drake. Make no mistake, however, Indiana St is not on the same level as Missouri St as we will learn when SIU plays them (my guess is double digit losses in both games).

I agree, MSU is definitely better than the trees. Heck of a comeback by Drake tonight! No doubt they are a top 20 team! 1st valley team to win after at least a 10 day layoff. MVC teams were 0-5 previously.
Unless DeVries has Ben Jacobson loyalty, I don't really see him staying there past this season. Especially when he has a 4 star kid.
