Unless DeVries has Ben Jacobson loyalty, I don't really see him staying there past this season. Especially when he has a 4 star kid.
No doubt that fear is starting to cross Drake fans’ minds. And yes, his son as a package deal may make him all the more attractive.
Hoping DeVries sticks around; Drake fans have had enough heartache.

Devries nephew Jaylen is a freshman QB for SIU. His brother Jared, Jaylen's father played 10+ years in the NFL for the Lions and was Jaylen's HS football coach in Iowa.

Hope he stays. He waited a long time to get a job out of Creighton and Drake gave him the opportunity.
Any update on Domask?
Going to the Dr to be evaluated. They're calling it week to week but I just don't see him risking to come back soon based on the current state of the team. They're going to be a Thursday team with or without him at this point so you might as well let him get healthy.

I fully agree Domask should be healthy before he returns, however long that takes.
That said, I'm hoping he is able to come back before too much longer. Even though it is likely SIU is a Thursday team either way at this point (although sweeping UNI this weekend could change things a bit), I do think there's value in keeping the season from spiraling into a 9th or 10th place type finish for several reasons: trying to instill a winning culture/winning expectations in the players, overall player morale in a year that is already difficult with the COVID restrictions, avoiding the perception the program has taken a big step back from a recruiting standpoint, etc.
It's going to be hard for this team to win many games without Domask, as evidenced by the offensive droughts in Terre Haute. They can win some, but the record will likely get ugly, pretty quickly, if he's out too much longer.

I agree with this completely. Just because we are probably a Thursday team does not mean we should just mail in this season. Also, hopefully this lack of offense that we will have will make these guys learn to rely on their defense. Last year's team did that. This year's team doesn't seem to be quite as good at it yet. Plenty of season left to correct some things though!
Surely, I didn't mean to say mail in the season. These guys have a long way to go to be in the top 3 of the conference and need every minute they can get. This team has had some AMAZING moments in the last 2 seasons but when it's all said and done, will be at, or under, .500 and it sure would help to gain some confidence and momentum by the end of the year.
