Well, someone had to start it eventually.
Living up here in Blo-No I watch ISU's team for the most part because I cover them for the local print outlet. They've been "meh" at best for the entire season. While they return Keyshawn Evans, Milik Yarbrough and Phil Fayne), they have a new guard in Zach Copeland who averages nearly 11 PPG, and the "kid from LeRoy" (Matt Chastain) is healthy this year to play consistently, he's even started recently.
I attached one of my snaps from the last meeting at Redbird Arena.
Proud Saluki, living and working in Kansas State territory. 🤔
Yeah, I'm pretty much in Last Couple of Seasons of C-Lo mode these days.
Wake me up when Hinson is gone.

Birds by 15. Forgive me Saluki Bob.

I wouldn't surprised to see a win or a 20-30 point loss, but I do hope the starting lineup changes continue until we land on a first five and supporting cast rhythm that can for once put together a complete game. I wouldn't mind seeing Beane in the starting line up; the dude pulled down 7 offensive boards.
Expect SIU to get out rebounded, struggle offensively, and leave the Redbirds routinely open for three point looks. Barry Hinson is a stubborn fool. Not that he was ever any good as a coach, but it's clear the way the game of basketball is played today has long passed him by.
Side note; as stated above, Beane should be playing a lot. Maybe even starting. He's earned it.
--Insert something witty here--
The wide open 3s drive me absolutely insane, and it had been a problem for at least the past couple of seasons. We are fortunate in apparently playing teams who for the most part don't shoot the 3 well; we are currently ranked at #230 in 3 pt. defense, and I'm shocked that it's not worse than that.

We seem to play better on the road a lot of the time. However I don't see us keeping this close. ISU is tough to figure out this year but most of our team is disinterested. Pippen has picked things up a notch and Beane is playing well. Our non existent offense is such a liabilty that I see this in the loss column.

How do these kids come to a point where they do not play for personal pride, for their parents, friends and those that love them and follow them? How do they get to a point where they can't or won't play for their team mates or their school? Don't understand this.
Thank God for hockey, though my team is awful this year.

Yet you can’t see the obvious thing? Maybe it isn’t on the players.
This is the battle of two severely underachieving teams. Lots of talent, but lack the fundamentals, desire, and coaching to do anything with it.
