I didn't watch the game and I just read this thread. So let me get this straight. We were down by what 1 point? With the ball and how many seconds left? And failed to get off a fucking shot??

ISU hit a free throw with 5.7 left to put them up one. We bring the ball across half-court and then launch a pass in to the backcourt for a turnover at the buzzer.
Craving a McBride Special!
Illinois State has never seen a lead they couldn’t blow. Muller is a really mediocre coach, but he’s owned Hinson over the past seven years.

Thank you. Sounds about right.
Look on the bright side. SIU will be lucky to win 8 or 9 games next year.
And Jerry and the rubes will stand by with their backs turned.
Honestly the one bright spot if Hinson comes back yet again is that next year hell get tattooed with the sort of record his patheticness truly deserves

Yep. His career SIU record will dip back below .500, and then he'll be done in Carbondale. BUT he better get the axe after this season. Period.

How fitting we lose the game on yet ANOTHER unforced turnover. It was like SIU was handing the ball to them.
Really painful to watch. Booze doesn't even help anymore...
March on triumphantly!
What happened before the foul? Who foul'd and why did we foul with 5 seconds left of a tie game? Would rather take our chances and force them to shoot a game winner then give then a free throw...

Fayne was fouled trying to make a lay-up by Fletcher. The foul prevented a sure bucket. But...the Salukis had two fouls to give and they could have disrupted the ISU offense a little had they done so.

you havent seen next year's schedule yet, I am going to make an assumption and assume it will be fairly easy with some MEAC/SWAC level opponents on it.

I think there was about a three second differential between the shot clock and the game clock.
Like Wiseone said, we had fouls to give and could have stopped that play from developing.

Thank you for elaborating! I didn't get to watch the game last night, and the ESPN App wasn't updating accordingly...

Bartley starting, McGill to the bench.
It is my understanding that Bartley starting (instead of McGill) might be referred to as a 'scorebook malfunction'
I'm not making this up.
(1) US COVID-19 statistics (February 29, 2020-June 16, 2020): 2,124,000 reported cases and 115,052 deaths
(2) Donald Trump (June 15, 2020) told a group of senior citizens that there would be very few cases of COVID-19 if the US stopped its testing and contact tracing: "If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, actually."
(3) Donald Trump [(Jan 20, 2020), when asked if he's worried about a pandemic]: “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s — going to be just fine.”

Why does that not surprise me?

I would jokingly say GRAC (Junior College) opponents, but the GRAC might be stronger than the MVC this year...
