Does anyone know how far Saracen Casino is from Little Rock? I heard they have good steaks there.
Only 20 minutes away ...so I've heard

Looking through the stats...our experienced leaders of Domask, Jones and Harvey combined for 17 turnovers.
Some of the plusses include a good night on the boards at +10, and good free throw shooting. Those areas had been weak in the past.
"In Mullin I Trust"
Disappointed is too tame an adjective to describe this loss. It hurts, but a month from now we will have a whole lot better idea of what kind of SIU team we have, how good a coach Mullins is and what kind of MVC season we can expect to have. Down a couple of beers or smoke a joint, kick the dog and skizzy the wife. Sun will come up tomorrow and hopefully this will be the low-water mark of the season. One game does not a season make.
Look on the bright side, from here on out, SIU can play the roll of spoiler.
Our next opponent, Austin Peay, beat NAIA Tennessee Southern by 7 tonight and they played their starters pretty much the entire game.

SIU will win handily against Austin Peay. They were bad last year and are worse this year. Many fans will be feeling better. But then Colorado will smoke them and we'll be on the roller coaster ride that is SIU basketball.

So, you're saying we have a chance?
I kid.
March on triumphantly!
UALR has some talent and size, and their coach (former 1st round NBA pick) made some great adjustments at half and they came out fired up. Meanwhile we came out and everybody who touched the ball decided to throw it away.
If not for Jones' offense in the 2nd half, they blow us out of the gym.
Banks did not impress at all, Coupet did. He should be getting way more than 19 minutes! Brown must still be hurt. Jones too many TOs (although a few of those passes should have been caught IMO), but he's an offensive stud. Just some great drives to the basket. Three steals and 5 rbs too. Domask also too many TOs, but he's a darn good player - 4 As and 5 rbs.
We still have issues in the middle, and their big men Maric and Gordon exposed them. No Ebube.
We looked great 1st 10 minutes, not so good after that and that 1st 10 of the 2nd half was just awful.
Their scoreboard operator must have been a 2nd grader. Never sure what the real score was!
Very winnable game, but it's just the first one and it was on the road - don't read too much into it.
Happy to see Domask look 100% healthy and playing like his usual self, at least in the first half, but curious why our offense doesn't force plays through him most times down the floor. As for the turnovers, what a mess: the ones where guys tried to be too aggressive I'm okay with - it's the ones where we just keep passing up multiple open shots and then give it away that are most frustrating to watch.
Can we all stepback off of the ledge it is one game to early to judge this team already having injuries making it hard to get a feel for rotations players having an off night things that can be fixed and a terrible atmosphere to play in let's make an informed decision after 10 games this team wasn't going to get an at large bid so let's use the pre season to build for the conference season

Amen. This board can be so bipolar. I wonder how Mo. State fans feel after losing at home to SEMO? I wonder how No. Iowa fans feel after losing at home to Nicholls? I believe this is the same Byran Mullins who coached SIU to a 5th place finish, with a very thin roster, after being picked to finish last in his first year. That which does not kill you makes you stronger. Buck up.

I was impressed with their freshman point guard. Not a bad performance for his first D1 game. Like others have stated, I wonder why Ben Coupet didn't log more minutes. Mullins and his crew will have a lot to digest after this poor showing.

Jones handled this really well and took accountability. It’s a very likable team. Would be great to see them have success.
