Can we all stepback off of the ledge it is one game to early to judge this team already having injuries making it hard to get a feel for rotations players having an off night things that can be fixed and a terrible atmosphere to play in let's make an informed decision after 10 games this team wasn't going to get an at large bid so let's use the pre season to build for the conference season

Amen. This board can be so bipolar. I wonder how Mo. State fans feel after losing at home to SEMO? I wonder how No. Iowa fans feel after losing at home to Nicholls? I believe this is the same Byran Mullins who coached SIU to a 5th place finish, with a very thin roster, after being picked to finish last in his first year. That which does not kill you makes you stronger. Buck up.

Nicholls was 18 - 7 and won the Sun Belt last year. Better team than UALR. They missed a bunch of FTs at the end or they might have won at UNI by 10.

  1. If by January or February we can play like we did the 1st 10 minutes, nobody will want to play us!

And UALR plays good D, so give them some credit. After Jones and Domask and Coupet, we didn't show much. MVC teams are gonna focus on LJ and MD - we are going to need other weapons to beat decent teams.

Yeah, if you want to be optimist, the first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes were really impressive.  It’s what made the 20 minutes in between so disheartening and it was really concerning that no adjustments were being made during this stretch which included a halftime break.  And I think we saw it a lot last year too after Domask went out.

Hoping this is a wake up call and when Coupet is playing full minutes, Domask is making shots, and Jones isn’t turning over the basketball that this team looks like the team we saw in the first 10 minutes because that looked like the team we thought we’d see.

I fully understand that teams have off nights, especially on the road.  And SIU had plenty of legitimate excuses:  It was JD's first game at the D1 level.  It was Marcus first game in a year (not exactly).  It was Coupet's first game after being off 3 weeks with a hamstring injury. We were without a potential starter in Brown.   So there is reason to believe this team can, and will improve.

One of the my major disappointments is that despite the foul trouble, struggles, etc.  the highly touted freshmen got a total of ONE minute.  Let that sink in............ONE minute.  It goes to show you how hard college basketball is at the D1 level.

Just wondering if Brown will be the PG going forward.  Banks has not shown much and clearly the turnover machine that is Lance Jones should not be initiating the offense

Little Rock didn't beat SIU, SIU beat SIU. Unforced errors, mostly in the form of sloppy passes. Furthermore, JD was playing his first D1 game ever, after a full year off. Does anyone remember how Roland Roberts looked his first games?

I feel our chances of gettin an at large bid were remote at best, just win the conference tournament. Go Dawgs.

PS- I'll bet the team watched lots of film yesterday!

I like Brown at the 2, don’t believe he has the skills at point, other than a few minutes here and there. Solid point guard depth is a weakness on this team.

IF Lance can’t get his turnover volume under control, Dalton Banks becomes hugely essential to any success this team can have. Slow start for Dalton, but let’s give him a few games to get going.

It would be interesting to see what the outcome would have been if BOTH teams played well.  Let's not forget that UALR shot under 15% from 3.  If they hit their normal percentage, they blow us out (if everything else remained the same).  But if both teams played well, I bet it would have been a close game and SIU had a real chance to win.

Which while accurate and surprising considering how many guards are on this roster.
