SIU Men's Basketball is sponsoring a youth basketball camp for grades K-8 this week.  The camp is for four days and each participant pays $100.

Just out of curiosity, how is the money utilized?  For example, does the money go into the Men's basketball budget?

All SIU roster players at elite camp--Fall was there but not the Beanes. Thik Bol was there with a wrap from mid calf to a little above the left knee--he was walking without aid

Hopefully Bol will recover--if he does, I see him more at the 5 spot and Pippen at the PF--Pippen's 15 foot J shot looks good and his handle for the first few dribbles is good for his size and Bol is more valuable underneath as rim protector.  Pippen is about 250 and over 6-10

The only problem I see with that is the little huckster doesn't know how to play with more than one post player on the floor at a time.  Just can't figure it out.....at least he's consistent.

I can't remember the last time we had what I consider two post players who were good enough to play at same time since 1989-90--maybe when Jerry Jones and Ashraf Amaya were occasionally teamed ?

I've known several Valley head football coaches and a couple baseball coaches.  They basically got to keep all the money.  Of course, they had to pay their staff.  That's why so many use the student athletes as coaches.  The baseball coaches would slip the custodial staff a little somethin' somethin' to get them to line/drag the field.

I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

Hinson retains all net profits from the camp per his contract.

"Coach shall receive the net profit of the camp, which net profit shall be computed by SIUC after deduction of all direct expenses.   ...direct expenses shall include...administrative and facilities charges set by SIUC.  Coach shall be solely responsible for determining the compensation to be paid to the assistant coaches and other personnel he chooses to assist in the operation of the camp."

Thank You.   That clears it up.
