No word coming from SIU yet but SIU plays Valpo on January 29th. Not sure the point of playing this.
Edit: Tweet was deleted, nothing from SIU, Missouri Baptist has removed the game from their schedule
So odd that MoBap posted that last night and their head coach Retweeted it and nothing from SIU.
We have two HUGE games starting next weekend.
I think the tweet has been deleted.

They originally moved the game to January 30th on their schedule, now it’s removed all together

Most of us don’t care if this game gets played ever, I just wanna know that our basketball team doesn’t have a virus outbreak, which could affect the first two conference games.
The players are young and will be fine, but this is weird.

The team is 100% vaccinated so they’d only get tested if a teammate or someone close to the team shows symptoms. Could be a huge advantage going forward.

I do care.
I drove 1,000 miles to get to watch some Saluki hoops no matter who they play. Beggers can't be choosers and now I don't get to catch a game.
I am still hopeful since SIU has not announced anything.

I just don’t want anyone hurt in a meaningless game.
Im guessing SIU is looking for another opponent at this point.
I am hopeful for a replacement if the cancellation is true.
Bryan does not view it as meaningless or he would not have scheduled the game. I know people don't like it but he values it.

Yeah no idea, guess we'll get word on Sunday. Missouri Baptist had it moved to January 30th on their schedule but now it's gone all together. Maybe SIU is looking for a replacement?
Seems like covid is going to make a serious run at having an unwanted presence in the basketball season all over the country UNI had their game canceled on Sunday also numerous cancelations and postponed games are rising their ugly heads probably best to start expecting a weird finish to the season
Still selling tickets.
Strange.
given the number of cancelled games BM is probably trying to get someone to replace them on the 28th since it looks like MBU has no intention of playing.
doesn't matter who we play. Good opportunity to work out the kinks because our at-large bid is out the window anyway. 😆
We are working on answers folks. Give us a little time we will get answers
