Jones has been SIU’s best player down the stretch.
That was a poor first half. This team is gassed especially McGill and Domask (McGill air balled a free throw!!). We missed 7 wide open, nobody near me, shoot around threes that half, and most of them were by people we want shooting the ball.
They desperately need this week off and hope they can come back on Friday of the tournament with some life...and confidence on the offensive end. We are locked in to the 5 seed so this game doesn’t matter all that much anyway.
I will let a lot go. Insulting players will not happen. This is the only warning
( I deleted the post but I am sure you are all grown up enough to figure it out)
@siudawgs Is there any reason to be excited about arch madness. I support our team. Kinda feels like this team is lost these last 4 weeks. Does Mullins have what it takes to get them ready ?

There’s always reason to be excited about Arch Madness.
And Mullins preparing the team ain’t the issue. Now a shorthanded roster that appears to be wearing down badly against a veteran Bradley team ...
Lance Jones with 28 and Trent Brown with 10! That's all I got here.
@siudawgs Fridays game will be a game that shows us what kind of coach Mullins is. Good coaches can get good effort out of tired guys in big game's.

I do expect good effort.
But, the matchups are not favorable.
The best days of the Mullins era are ahead.
If I were Mullins, I'd have a light practice Thursday, then go out and beat Bradley Friday. These guys are gassed.
Only players with more than 1 field goal: Lance Jones and Trent Brown.
Jones had 7 TOs (ouch!) but 28 pts to tie Domask for the highest scoring game this year. 7 - 10 FTs, 10 - 17 FGs. Mo. State couldn't stop him. Player of the game.
Trent Brown was 4 - 6 including 2 - 4 from 3. 10 pts. Good to see him drive it and hit some 3s.
23 TOs: Jones 7, McGill 4, Domask 3, Benson 3, etc
We got outrebounded 37 - 20 and outshot 54% to 37%
The rest is going to help, but until someone steps up (besides Lance Jones) to make opponents pay for keying on Domask, we're going to continue to see these double-digit losses.
(Inflammatory political snark)
The senior leadership and the shooting legs have both gone missing at an unfortunate time.
Marcus Domask does look gassed. As a Freshman, with over 1,000 minutes played, he probably is gassed. As Marcus goes, so goes this team, so there it is as I see it. Benson never played big division 1 minutes before. He looked very low energy today. He might be gassed too.
We are rotating 8 players, just like last year, but Marcus is the key. Last year, the big minutes guys were Seniors. Here is hoping the six days will provide some rest and recharge for the young lad and for the big Senior.
Glad to see Trent brown get that giant weight off his shoulders.

Marcus missed several WIDE open shots today.
