I’m not going to call kids out by name who don’t belong at this level. But it’s stunningly obvious IMO that there are a couple who cannot compete with the athletes in the MVC.
@salukiworld yep, just hilarious all the loss trolls show up only when we’re losing to say the program is screwed but don’t show up when they win.
Missouri St is good and I kind of figured this was a loss. Not gonna get too pissy about this one. I'll save it for this weekend against Illinois St.
At this point this team could lose every remaining game (which is possible) and it wouldn't bother me. But the fact that Missouri State is playing terrible and still sticking it to this team is what is irritating. The missed FT's, the missed layups, the three fouls on 3pt shooters......... I can't help but be irritated.

Missouri State has 5 losses this year, 4 to Loyola and Drake. SIU is missing Domask and on the road. Seems like a waste of energy to get worked up over this one. At the very least, they've kept it a competitive game. I'm not one for moral victories but I'm not too upset with this one.
@dunkledog a bad game is different than posting a kids name saying they aren’t good enough.
Banks has played well outside of the fouls on defense and turnovers in the first half
Is it just me or does Jones have a bit of Steve Middleton potential?

I hope not. Scoring 40 is great. Scoring 40 on 78 shots is not
Let’s just hope Marcus can come back this weekend, and maybe we can finish the year on a positive note. It certainly feels depressing watching every opponent be bigger and more athletic than us. But, I’m told that’s going to change. Hope it does!

Final
Jones the leading scorer with 13. Banks with 6 rebounds and 12 points off the bench.
Fully expected this to be unpleasant. It was. The only annoying thing is Missouri State was begging to get beat by sleepwalking through the first half.
Onward to meet the rested Deadbirds.
Can't hit layups, can't hit 3's, can't hit free throws. Still in the game.
Good D on Mosley by Brown.
Nothing I hate more than beating yourself.
Game was winnable, but for some reason (youth, perhaps) we lost because of poor fundamentals. Still like the trend line for these guys.
March on triumphantly!
Played good D, but missed a ton of open looks and bunnies! Jones didn't run the point very well in the 1/2 court. Mullins must not trust Harvey, or is worried about his defense, because he is never playing in crunch time. He is an offensive player and we desperately needed scoring tonight. He didn't get back in until Banks fouled out with less than a minute left. I now wonder if he will be around next year. Thought Banks played well. Had a couple bad fouls on 3 point shots, but otherwise well. We desperately need athleticism. Wonders and D'Amico look somewhat athletic on film, but neither look like they are super athletic. Domask changes so much on offense, hope to see him back in some capacity this weekend.
Mullins benched Harvey after he ran right into a defender who was set for about 2 seconds and he never returned until the last minute when the game was out of reach. Mullins trusted Harvey enough to start him, which hadn't always been happening lately. Harvey is improving along with the rest of the team, he just has to learn the MVC is a step up from playing in the OVC where he might be able to get away with some of those drives to the hoop. I think that was the point Mullins was making.
