Northeastern vibes for Domask. Tough to watch because that kid is fun to root for.
Verplancken was also Ver-clankin'.
Contrary to basketball guru Spike, Muila actually should have been on the floor more, especially in the first half when he sat too long after a nice start.
But many of the points made in this thread are valid, unfortunately. Not enough athleticism, not enough offense to consistently play at a high level against top-100 type opposition.
We have a hard time beating anyone unless we have a hot shooting night. D got exposed tonight. I thought we played without energy or urgency until that little burst at the end started by two steals by Jones. Unfortunately, LJ helped kill that spurt with a couple of bad TOs.
Mullins better get his crack staff of familia on the road to recruit some stud JUCOs for next year. Period the fuxking end.
The stat sheet is bad. If anything it shows that we should have had the brakes beaten off us worse.
Obviously Bouyea and Massalski are studs, but shooting has to be better as does defense. We also fail to do the little things to win, which BMull to his credit has acknowledged is a big issue. He sees the faults, I don’t know why some on here don’t.
We were exposed today as a mediocre team.
We are nowhere near good, which is what I hoped we might be this year.
So far, I think I will hide the Saluki shirts, maybe go into hibernation....grrrrrr. Unhappy Dog here!
Leading scorer - Coupet. 2nd leading scorer - Muila! What??
Most incredible stat - Muila made a free throw!
I fear teams like Loyola, UNI, Mo State, Drake and a few others are going to beat us like a drum.
“It was just one of those games offensively “ - Mullins to Reis just now.
I have no words. That was the final comment. Lordy.

better than "thanks to our fans, thanks to our listeners" after you get drubbed.

it's becoming a typical game, bryan.
Craving a McBride Special!
If anybody comes on here talking about how we:
1) Are progressing as a team
2) Got hosed by the refs
3) Are turning a corner
I'm going to punch them in the mouth.
Three observations from this game....
I think we're progressing as a team.
There were SEVERAL bad calls against us in this game.
This game could be a turning point in our season! I'm so excited!

Other than Loyola I don’t think those teams are that great either. If there’s a positive, that’s it.
This game reminds me of our 1st round game in 2006 against WVU - just absolutely outmatched and a horrendous matchup. Our frontline right now is serviceable, but nowhere near what San Fran has down low; they are a really impressive team.
3-20 from 3. Hitting from the outside was our only chance tonight, and we just don't have consistent shooters.
Muila was 2nd on the team with +1 behind Coupet +2. Filewich with -10, Banks with -11, Domask with -12. SIU has been constantly better with Muila over Filewich outside of the SEMO and Maryville games.
Lots of valid posts, but in my opinion, if you can't make layups and free throws on the road, you don't deserve, nor can you expect to win. Yes, we need to be athletic, but at a bare fookin minimum, you have to play fundamentally sound Especially on the road. Pathetic performance tonight.
March on triumphantly!

I think Bryan should lap the floor and clap at each fan section, even at away games!
