Nice turnout by Chicagoland Saluki fans today ... I can only imagine how many would have been in the house if an MVC reg season title was on the line in this one.

Pretty scary game, considering how damaging a loss this could have been. The thought of Marcus Domask (who didn't look like he had a lot of juice today) having to play on Thursday in STL as a senior is pukeworthy ... relieved to have dodged that one.

That first 3 by Wonders when SIU was down six in the first half was one of the biggest moments of the game, IMO ... things were pretty tenuous at that point. Very happy for him that he got to see the floor in meaningful fashion for the first time in a long time, and he absolutely contributed to an important win.

Banks' hustle players were outstanding, and Brown has put together two nice outings in a row ... I have no doubt, for better or worse, he will see plenty of action in St. Louis now.

We saw Good Lance and Bad Lance at various points today. A few truly head-scratching decisions by him, but he was the engine in the final 2 minutes.

Lastly, I will say the third foul on Banks toward the end of the first half, when he took a forearm shiver/push-off, might have been the worst call I've seen all season. I don't usually lean into ref-bashing, but that call was pathetic!!

Anyways ... W.

Yep the Saluki faithful easily outnumbered the UIC fans. Highly recommend the floor seats here, $50 you can't beat that. Got fist bumps from Marcus, Lance, and Trent after the game, pretty cool!

Saluki Insider? I barely know her!

Side note: I didn’t think Foster’s defense was that bad. He looked pretty good to me. Wish he got more time here. Seems like a misplay by the staff.

he did what he needed to do at the time made 2 big 3s game flows are always tricky Rupert only had 10 minutes would have liked to seen more but we won and we can always nit pick

I was surprised not to see Ebube at all after he had a good game against UIC last time.  The rotations continue to be wild.  I can't believe Wonders goes from garbage time to getting pretty big minutes in the last game of the season.  Bryan did explain it in one of his interviews that UIC isn't good at guarding screens.

The small lineups were an interesting choice. Getting outrebounded by UIC isn't great.

@14_alumdawg That is Balley's call. They and NBC Chicago pay the MVC for the rights to a set of games called MVC TV games. Because they pay for it is their streaming services that get the game. They don't GIVE that to ESPN. Or vice versa when it's ESPN's game. Frustrating I get it as there isn't one source you can count on every game to have it. But, it's busines, and it maximizes revenue to MVC schools to have two sources paying for games.

Yes.  Ebube gets 4 dunks on UIC the first time around, then doesn't play the next time.  Wonders hits 2-3 from outside the arc the 1st half, then doesn't sniff the floor the 2nd.  I'd say those rotations continue to be confounding.

It was truly a beautiful site seeing the sea of Maroon and White in the house on Sunday. UIC Arena is easily accessible via expressways, with parking garage directly adjacent, with large gated parking lot directly across the street. Only $5.00 too. Sight lines inside arena are good, although the open east end is somewhat strange. Bathrooms were close by, as well as concessions. Prices were about what to expect, as my wife and I had two bottles of water for $10.00. As for the game, witnessed many positives. One being Lance going to the basket more, Dalton playing phenomenal defense, Foster hitting some big threes, and Trent contributing as well. We did however miss quite a few interior shots, most notably MD who normally makes them. The team now has four days to recharge, and prepare for The Lou. The question I have: Who off the bench will be that player to spark, or perhaps be the difference?

@tj-mcflys Also easily accessible by public transit, at the very least there's a blue line station like half a block away.

@invisiblesaluki

You are 100 % correct. I was driving down from just over the border in Wisconsin so was speaking in terms of driving. Much more desirable than the drive/commute to Loyola IMO. Where were you seated, I did not see you Mr. Invisible! Ha ... 😎 😎

Section 113 row K.

And for me, Loyola and UIC are about the same, instead of getting off Metra at 35th and getting on the red line, I got off at LaSalle St and got on the blue line
