Maybe if it’s more than one person lol I’m frustrated too but 4 rebounding comments on 2 pages is a lot.  Go dawgs

San Fran looked pretty darn good. Southern was outmanned. Domask has had a couple games where he’s started strong and then disappeared in the second half. Sucks that Dembele and Davis are missing so many games.

We will struggle like a sumbitch in the MVC if we don't fix our rebounding. If the injured players come back, should help. We're small.

Did not play good D. USF also shot it out their asssss. We're pulling a Barry BBQ, always sloughing off toward the middle with the help defense. That is just not smart against a team that can really shoot it from the outside. (unless we're getting killed on the inside, which we weren't) Gotta guard the perimeter!

Benson, Domask did not have great games.  I'd really like to see more of Lance Jones and would like him to be a lot more aggressive about driving it and trying to score. I think he'd score a lot and spend a lot of time at the line. Super quick.

Jones is going to be really fun if he keeps working at his game. Definitely an explosive player and aggressive mindset.

The reason the big guy didn't hurt us much is because he was double teamed when he got the ball and he was good at hitting the open guy and then they hit their shots. San Fran looked like a pretty good team to me and I think they will win a lot of games. They were quick, had good size and could shoot. I was disappointed in Cook and McGuil. They did score some points but it looked like they were playing Barry ball, too much dribbling. The guys in the game the last five minutes or so shared the ball much better. I think the smaller and younger lineup will get more playing time as the year goes on.

I was holding back but since 82 brought it up (thank you for breaking the ice); McGill & Cook kept driving the basket like it was a pickup game;  no pass-offs that I saw & they got stuffed or just plain missed which can be expected in the midst of the SF trees down low. Also, their poorly chosen outside shots were off the mark. Time to let the kids play. Thank you guys for hanging in there & being the senior leaders but time to pass the flag. This team is not a last place team by any means. I still contend that we will finish in 7th place.

I have been a Cook fan (not the storage building one) since he was a freshman and he and McGuill are good players. They just need to have confidence in the other guys and not try to do it one on one. Hopefully they will learn to play Mullins ball and put Barry ball in the past.

I agree, it looked like they were trying to do it all by themselves on offense. I do hope that they can trust that they don't have to do it alone. They gave it their all on defense.

I am pretty sure that San Fran team would win the Valley.  That said, we regressed to Barryball.  Growth needed...that an another recruiting season.

Agreed that it will take time.  I'll repeat myself yet again saying that the key is seeing progress from the younger guys.  That being said, if this staff doesn't start recruiting and landing taller, stronger players, they will continue to struggle with rebounding and winning consistently.

San Fran returned ten players from last year, we have three true freshman and a juco playing significant minutes. Let us not forget that the cupboard was left bare by Boo Hoo. BM has stated that they are looking to sign two big guys in the Spring. Go Dawgs.

This team may yet turn into something by Valley time.  Last night exposed several things.  Cook and McGill can definitely drive, but can they kick it out?  Francois and Gooch showed 3 point ability.  Domask can hit them as well.  Whoever drives must get to know where his guys will be when he begins the drive.  Right now, either Cook and McGill don't know where they will be, or they simply don't want to rely on them.  That will be revealed when they have played ten games together.  Then, we will see.

It takes players till the end of December first of January to adjust to a new team and new coaching.

Transfers tend to settle into the game play after about 2 months.

No matter how good the coaching, everyone will fall into their old habits from time to time.

WE will not be last place in the valley!

Mullins needs to sign low post players with some skill, with the last 2 scholarships for next season.  SIU can't afford to sign anymore guards or wings with the last two scholarships.....or it will bight them again next season.
