slmost time fellas . Sadly I don’t see this being even remotely close. Reality will set in quickly and depression followed shortly thereafter
I really hope I am wrong
You're not going to be wrong. But can't wait to visit Rupp Arena.
I was all fired up to leave work early and drive down to big Lex to see this game. It's only a 90-minute drive from home or the office, visit out daughter, eat great pizza (most local Cincy joints suck); and watch the Dawgs (ignore the Huckster show as much as possible).
But the Huckster has so killed my love for SIU basketball that I'm still planning on getting off work early but instead go home and paint the guest bedroom. I'd rather curse the trouble of overlapping the cut-in latex paint and then peeling masking tape go watch the dawgs play at Rupp Arena.
Rant over; time to head over to the neighborhood Sherwin-Williams store and pick up a gallon of satin Faded Flaxflower (I don't pick the colors, just the brushes and rollers.)
Go Dawgs!
Jealous of everyone that gets to make the trip to Rupp Arena. Mad that I have to be in Cleveland all weekend...

Former WIDB Sports Director and Dawg Pound President. Since my freshmen year, SIU Basketball has not appeared in a NCAA or NIT postseason game.
The reactions to this game: current SIU b-ball vs. SIU b-ball 12-17 (ugh!!!) years ago are very telling.
Once upon a time, our fan base would have relished a game like this (and likely would not have gotten a game like this in the first place, because such teams would have been too afraid to schedule us, but I digress).
Now, in this "most anticipated" season, everyone knows we don't have a prayer and is just hoping it isn't too humiliating.
People can talk all they want about a possible postseason bid and this or that ranking (Yay! we're in the Top 100 RPI!!!), but if you're likely not even COMPETITIVE with the top-ranked teams, what exactly is the point of this season or even of getting some sort of sorry-ass bid?
Twelve (again...GASP!) years ago, a victory would have been just that: an actual victory, or maybe a close loss, considering that we were on their floor. Now a "victory" means maybe not getting doubled up, or being competitive for the first 10 minutes of the game.
That's where we are. Thanks, Hinson, and everyone who has made your sorry-ass tenure possible.
(Inflammatory political snark)
And Kentucky was murdered tonight by Duke. Any hopes of them coming out flat and overlooking SIU just went out the window. May lose by 50
Time to make Kentucky 0-2!
I'm sure the UK fans who will most surely sniff out this board will instantly categorize us into the typical d-bag category for this oh so creative gameday thread title. I could see it if we were playing a Pitino team, but Calipari is pretty damn good coach. Just my opinion though...
A good coach whose name has come up in the FBI probe multiple times . He is as slimy as it gets. Who cares what they think anyway our board

He’s a good coach but not great. He blows at adjustments. It’s why he’s only won one title. He got mammothky our coached by Bo Ryan the year they lost one game. It eas glorious.
Still, would love him coaching my teams with his success.
He got outcoached by Bruce Weber, Chris Lowery, and Brad Korn during last year's tournament.
Agreed with the immature thread title. Have some class, even if you feel Calapari is a scum bag.

Are all you little snowflakes happy now?
I guess having two final four appearances taken away and being named in an FBI investigation is not something you can call out
😀
