I think a lot of people saw this coming when the brought Jerry Kill back, but I was still a bit shocked.

This school is a joke, as both an alum and someone who grew up in southern Illinois it's amazing how little pride I now feel for this university. At this point I basically rejoined the new forum just so I could talk Cardinals with the old guard but SIU athletics certainly wasn't a selling point
I think Kill is a great hire for SIU Athletics as a whole. He’s a competive guy that loves the university and wants to win. I of course worry about the basketball program and the connections he may have there that could hinder any growth going forward. Hope I’m wrong because I really like Jerry.
Might be firing the wrong people but at least they acknowledge something is wrong and change is needed.

The fact that he wanted Hinsonto stay gives me a lot of pause in praising this hire. I hope it works out.
I really like Kill, but I think he might be in the back pocket of those who are really making the decisions for SIU; you know, the ones who seem to be gleefully leading SIU straight down the toilet.
The mob are setting themselves up a nice little good ol' boys club where they can pat themselves on the back and laugh all the way to the bank until SIU is sucked completely dry.
I want so badly to be wrong, I just don't think Kill will have the freedom to do much of anything with men's basketball.
