When was this? were there only 8 teams in the conference then? Some may recall going into CFs for last game of the regular season with a 15-0 record and coming out 15-1. But defense emphasis, depth, and seniors makes for a good road team.
@enuf actually our record was 17-0 going into UNI game 17-1 final Valley record. 2003-2004 Season
One thing I have noticed about Cade, he seems to be the first one off the bench cheering a good play. Would like to see him get at least a few minutes of floor time today.
Unless we pull a USI at UNI, I like the Dawgs in this one.
UNI's 4 wins at home include NIU, St. Bonnie, Wartburg - a D3 school, and one D4 school - Evansville.
They lost at home to Toledo, McNeese, USF, Mo. State (by 12).
Dawgs by at least 8
They've been playing better since most of those losses. Have won 4 of their last 5, including road wins at ILSt and Valpo. Those aren't world-beaters, but as we know, any road win is a good one.
Knowing how badly SIU struggles on offense, I'm going to be really surprised if they come away with a W up there. If they do, I'll start to get pretty optimistic about this team.
Who's going to guard Anderson for UNI? 6'6 G/F averaging nearly a double-double.
Last I looked, ESPN said we were a 1.5 point favorite (presumably betting lines?) and we had a 50.1% chance to win...
So I'm guessing we lose by double digits, let's hope this ages as well as both my predictions last game (We're gonna lose because I was there, and it was going to OT when we had a 2 point lead with Drake ball late)
This is a big game. UNI seem to be gelling and are always tough at home. Hopefully we can pull this one out and make the showdown in Terre Haute a battle for first. Need to keep the defensive intensity and for God’s sake get a couple people to knock down open 3’s. UNI plays a pack line defense so if you aren’t hitting those shots it’s going to be a long day.
Also, I forgot to ask, what's the TV situation for this game?
I predict SIU doesn't score 60 today. Game outcome depends on our defense. If we win it will be another 53-48 type game.
And here we go...
...Ugh
Brown nearly misses the entire basket on a 3
Is Reis OK? He sounds confused about what's going on...
Dalton Banks 3.
7-3 UNIpanthers
