Glad the new moderators started this site . However it would be awesome IF some of the posters would come on here and post . Dawgfan Underdawg and many more that always had a ton of insight. Was hoping when BB started this site would start to come back, seems awfully dead. Football team is in the hunt for playoffs and compared to the old board very little has been discussed. Wishing for more Saluki discussion
Yep, I have given up with anyone posting anything meaningful on here anymore. Really stinks.

I don't have any problem with the slower posting on this site. I think it's mostly due to the fact that Barkeep and his merry band of mods have done an exceptional job keeping the 'crazies' off this site. Those people that made ST and SN a caustic pool of spewing venom that was hurled at anyone who had an opinion that may have differed from theirs are those I'm referring to. And this is not a shot at the previous web masters. I appreciated everything they did. The 'crazies' were the people that did the vast majority of posting. Very little, in my opinion, was beneficial. Rarely did I perceive them to have all the facts they claimed to have. I personally do not miss them. I rarely posted anything to either of those sites. I appreciate all who are on here that post their opinions -- even those opinions that differ from mine. All have been adult and civil with their comments and I appreciate their input. Afterall, I just might someday be wrong about something. There's a first time for everything.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
Maybe the previous 4-5 years has beat everyone down. At the least, many have just lost interest.
I post more than most (coffee loosens my tongue), but many times I don't when I have something to say, because I feel like few give a sh**, probably don't read it, and certainly won't have any response to it.
I expected more activity as well once the season started, but wins this weekend could really bring a lot of people back; I think two exhibitions against non-D1 programs brought lurkers back, but once the real games start I bet the posts will resume as well.
I would think with the new regime, more fans would come back pre-results. Also, isn't enrollment down and hence, so are numbers in the local community? It's strange: higher education is one of the few "growth" industries left, and yet SIU is shrinking. Local economics plus a former coach who didn't engender the fan base certainly hasn't helped.
Also I think since the early SalukiTalk days we have seen the growth of social media (especially Twitter) and also texting so I think a lot of fans are going elsewhere to share thoughts and not as concerned with hiding behind a username on a forum. I think you would find Internet forums across the web aren’t as popular as they once were.
Don’t disagree that there were some vile posters posting and bullying other posters . However there were also some well informed posters and a lot of valid information was posted. Hoping some return and that the fan base hasn’t become apathetic. An angry fan base is much better than an apathetic fan base. Go Dawgs
I have around since way back in valley talk days, and last ten years have been a tough follow so I have lurked 99 percent more than I have posted. I'm an admin on a white sox messageboard soxtalk.com so I can sympathize with with the falling participation due to the rise of social media and lack of success from the primary team.
keep posting, people are around. Round some up on twitter, make your presence felt any way you can. If the team succeeds, people will come back and post
I still lurk! It's just tough for me to post on IE, so I use Chrome or Firefox now.
