It's early, but this team needs some bats.

They should have added Mike Moustakas when they had a chance.  A one year seven million dollar deal was right in Mo’s wheelhouse.

I agree.  But, losing these early games is not important.  It  is winning 14 out of 15 at the end of the season, only to miss the wildcard by 2 games.  That is the Cardinals Way .

Obviously it's super early, but I don't see a team who is relying on soft brains Martinez to be the ace and who has no MVP vote getter caliber guy in the center of the order doing too much other than modestly competing for the wild card

Now, word is that Ozuna has a bad right arm.  The hits just keep on coming.

And Ozuna also put up his 37 HR & 124 RBI last year when MLB obviously did something to the baseballs. The ball was flying out of the park all over the league. Before last year, Ozuna's numbers resembled what multiple Cardinals did last year (Pham, DeJong).  Ozuna (23 & 76; 23 & 85) is a better player than those guys, but the Cardinals needed to get another big bat besides just him.

A lot of the social media speculation is around his right shoulder. That said, it’s a long season and putting him on the 15 day DL would probably be better long-term.  

Jeets had to know about this when he traded Ozuna. 

He had an RBI double today. 

Also Fray you might want to keep up with the sport there is no 15 day DL anymore

Jordan Hicks struck out Todd Frazier with a ninety-nine mile per hour sinker.  It was positively filthy.

Dejong is a real offensive weapon for a middle infielder.

They couldn't make that move without trading either Gyorko or Wong.  We want Jose and Marp both in the lineup.

Dejong is a real offensive weapon for a middle infielder.

Everyone is always talking about moves the Cards could/should have made.  Getting Simmons is #2 on my list, behind signing Scherzer.  Dejong and Simmons up the middle would have been real nice on both sides...
