Wow that's impressive.  Interesting to see the breakdown of the top markets watching.  Providence and Ft. Meyers ahead of Minneapolis..isn't that in the "State of Hockey"????

I figured something was up when I saw that Marian Hossa had put his Chicago condo up for sale.  Figured it was the most likely outcome anyway, now it's confirmed.  Hossa is going to retire from hockey.

Clock still hasn't struck midnight for the Golden Knights yet.  Impressive run to the Cup Final.  I heard the sports books are nervous now.  Initial odds on Vegas winning the Cup before the season started were 500-1 and a bunch of people put down bets for the novelty of it and now with a big payoff looming, the bookies are sweating.

The ride for the Knights finally ends.  They were playing with house money the entire playoffs but still did things that no first year team in any of the major sports had ever done.  I expect a sophomore slump next season.

Caps have been waiting for this for a long time.  Once they got past Pittsburgh, I'm sure their confidence skyrocketed.  Still had to fight the weight of history and over the past several years they tried everything to get over the hump.  Great skating team.  PP was key.  Too many weapons.

Now that Ovie has shed the "great player who's never won the Cup" thing, I guess that means Henrik Lundqvist is the next man up in that category.

Wow.  Never heard of a coach resigning after winning the Stanley Cup.

There's contract clauses involved and it makes sense for Trotz to ask for big $$ but with Lamoriello taking over the Islanders, I expect Lou to take a serious run at him.

Hope the Cam Ward signing doesn't turn into Marty Turco pt. II for the Hawks.  Kunitz will add some grit and a few goals from the bottom 6 forwards.  Hopefully Manning's career year doesn't turn out to be just that.

Blues gave up an awful lot to get O'Reilly.  Still need to fill their backup goalie slot too.  As good as Allen was for stretches last year, when he was bad, he was REALLY bad and with the parity in the division, teams can't afford a 5-6 game losing streak, especially to division rivals, anymore because the goalie is cold.  Hawks proved that.

It seems to me the Hawks are stuck in cap hell at this point.

Cap situation is better after the Hossa trade.

I’m not sure what the FO’s plan is at this point.

Judging by all the young Dmen they've been acquiring, they're probably looking/hoping someone will emerge as the heirs apparent to Keith and Seabrook.  As you say, the cap situation got better with the Hossa trade and cap increase.  Bowman's probably giving himself some wiggle room in case somebody gets hurt.  With Karlsson's name coming up as the biggest trade bait as Ottawa goes into a rebuild, it'll be interesting to see if Bowman is willing to send the young players to the Sens to potentially get him.

Got to meet Stan years ago when he came into the radio station for an interview.  Incredibly nice man as I tried to not go all Chris Farley Show on him.

and if you needed any more reason to know what kind of man he was off the ice....
