is that Keepers Quarters place still open?   I think it moved to The Strip a while back. I still haven't been there.

Yes, it's open.  It is now in the old McDonald's building on the strip.

Keepers Quarters is one of the best restaurants in Carbondale in my opinion.

Any restaurants in Carbondale/surrounding area that have been doing an especially good job with outdoor dining/carry-out during the pandemic?

My lady took me to Italian Village for my traditional birthday dinner 10 days ago.  I have loved their spaghetti with meat sauce since my college days dating to the late 60s.  She ordered Lasagna as always and we were both disappointed.  Imo they have changed the sauce and it is nowhere as good as before.  Maybe we caught them on a bad night as Covid has badly affected most restaurants, but this wasn't good.  Like most places their salad bar was gone but their pre-made salads were fine.  Maybe their pizza is still good, but i left unhappy.

A bunch of Carbondale businesses including Quatros, Sidetracks, Tres Hombres are closed due to possible COVID cases

Midlands has closed again.  What i heard was that they were worried about their employees and did not feel like they could provide adequately for their safety.

Quatros was curbside pickup only for a long time. Still great pizza.

I've been in Carbondale a few times (most recently in October) and Quatros is still really good at curbside pickup.  They have like 20 or so spaces behind the restaurant and you just call them and they'll bring the food out.   Guessing that's still the case with Omicron cases rising.

What’s everyone’s favorite Quatro’s pizza?

Hard to pick just one, favorite two pizzas there?

I like the Challenge but it can be a bit much sometimes.  I was surprised how much I like their Taco Pizza.

Such sad news.  What a crappy article by the Southern, as usual.  Tip was larger than life, a Saluki and a great person.  There are a ton of great tributes on Facebook about him.  Just search on Tippy Cook to read more.  He came to SIU to play football and never left.  He worked security at the Arena when I was growing up.  He used to own Tres and currently owned Global Gourmet a few doors up from Tres. Such an icon.  RIP big guy! 😪

What I horrible omission, but the Southern was never known for journalistic effort.  I love Boobies.  The sub shop was pretty good, too.
