Sounds liek an interesting ploy to ncrease enrollment.  

Those potential studnts will get grant money based on their family income.  Not nukelear scienc.

Wow this is great! SIU has always been a great school for first-generation college students. This is a great alternative to lowering tuition and attracting Illinois high school students.  They announced something similar to this at U of I last year, and I always thought it was something SIU should offer as well.

Have they mentioned how this is getting paid for?  I know some students get federal grants to help out, but even if it is just for a few hundred students, it does not take long for the cost to add up.
