Wow this is great! SIU has always been a great school for first-generation college students. This is a great alternative to lowering tuition and attracting Illinois high school students. They announced something similar to this at U of I last year, and I always thought it was something SIU should offer as well.

Have they mentioned how this is getting paid for? I know some students get federal grants to help out, but even if it is just for a few hundred students, it does not take long for the cost to add up.
