It needed to be done. My man crush on the Killer continues to grow.

Anyone have any good options here? I'm wondering what Steve Finley is doing and if he has any interest.
Absolutely stunning. I figured we had missed the window. Very good move.
I like PJ a lot his father is very very connected to central Illinois travel baseball. Of course I have known him since he was 10 so I may be a bit partial
Glad to see this needed change take place. I don't have anything against Finigan, a very good Saluki, and I think he would probably do better than Hendu did. That said, it would be a weird move to hire an assistant from a coaching regime that didn't get much done over an extended period of time, after doing the exact same thing last time around, with poor results. Usually when you promote an assistant, it's to try to keep a winning culture going.
Hopefully there are some promising external candidates.
hot damn. there's hope. not sure why we wasted so much time but glad it's done
Henderson is being kicked upstairs as part of SIU athletic administration so has job.
I try to keep track of local kids as much as possible. Cody Jansen from Teutopolis is a freshman at John A Logan. Catcher.
Hit .341/.486/.585 with 10 2B, 1 3B, and 7 HR. Be a great pickup as a sophomore at one of SIUs weaker positions.
Also LHP Jordan Bloemer from North Clay. 2.5 ERA, 60 K in 54 IP as a freshman at Kaskaskia. Would be another solid sophomore pickup.
Now that the trigger has been pulled, it is finally time to turn the page on the mediocre results of the past three decades. Hope we get someone to energize the excitement the program once had. The three MVC teams that made the NCAAs this year (DBU, Illinois State, and Indiana State) represented the league very well. Our game needs to be elevated quite a bit to get there, but it can be done. As a former Saluki myself, I would like to see alums and fans to look forward to and support the new era of Saluki Baseball that is on the way.
Happy to hear that Kill/SIU has made the move. Also, happy to hear that Hendu has a role as an administrator. Good guy, just didn't get the job done on the field. I'm hoping that SIU brings in a coach from outside, in order to reinvigorate this once proud program. Looking forward to the future of Saluki baseball. Time to get back to the NCAA Tournament.
God Kill is awesome

Kill has done a spectacular job of cleaning up an athletics department that previously had no expectations from SIU's leadership. Very nice job Jerry Kill! Very nice!
