He seems to have recruiting contacts in California. Brought Cali players in at both SEMO and Mizzou.
If SIU can start getting into that California prep talent pool I would be quite happy.
I guess no one gives a shit about SIU baseball. Understandable, I guess.

From what I'm hearing, Kill has made another outstanding hire.
I am hoping that is true. I followed the three MVC teams all through the regionals and I have followed the DAWGS for as long as I could stand it. Hopefully, things will improve now in baseball.
Getting a new head coach and staff in here is certainly a step in the right direction. Definitely hearing/seeing a lot of good things about the hire (which is to be expected). Hopefully he brings a winning culture back to the program and SIU is back in the NCAA Tournament in a couple of years.
In addition to playing u of i every year it would be great to get regular games with Missouri back on the schedule as well.

This should give an early indication of where the program is headed. Very positive energy from Coach Rhodes about what he hopes to accomplish with Saluki Baseball. I am really excited about the potential to finally turn this thing around to fully compete in the Valley and beyond.
Spoke to a couple of Saluki baseball alumn over the weekend and for what it's worth, they were really pumped up about the new baseball coach. They feel like he has the energy and background to right the ship. I certainly hope they're right. It was nice to see some positive energy around this once proud program.
