SIU's Tom Gleaton and Matthis Besard are running 2nd and 3rd for the individual championship.
SIU will win the chjampionship easily - just a few golfers left to finish and up by 17. Unfortunately, some scumbag (LOL) from VALPO has played out of his gourd today (-4) and unless Mathis Besard can pick up a stroke on the par 5 18, he will come in 2nd.

Mathis Besard birdied the par 5 18 to shoot a 69, but unamed scumbag from Valpo also birdied it to shoot a 67.
Besard comes in 2nd. By one stroke! Tom Cleaton ties for 4th. Wilhelmsen 7th, Magnusson and Hosington 10th.

Kudos to the Salukis linksters, Mathis Besard and Coach Kaufmann on the MVC Championship, Golfer of the Year and Coach of the Year awards.
While I admit that I don't follow the golf program that closely (Hoops is my jam-pun intended with Football and Baseball following), I must say how proud I was to hear the good news. Lots of positives coming from both Men's and Women's athletics at SIU recently and more to come !!!!

Sorry - Hard for me to support state (taxpayer) funded schools taking away so many scholarships from US kids and awarding to international students. If a private school wants to do this, ok. Can someone please make this make sense to me? I’m sure I’m missing something.
