RIP Mark Newman

Saluki Hall of Famer Mark Newman passed today at the age of 71.  Newman graduated in 1970 after three years of varsity baseball in which the Dawgs advanced to the College World Series twice in that span.  He then spent 8 years as an assistant to Saluki Head Coach Richard "Itchy" Jones, before becoming the Head Coach at Old Dominion University.  He later joined the New York Yankees, where his career culminated as senior executive of baseball operations.
