Don't know if anyone else watched this game on ESPN+, but the Dawgs just pounded higher-seed BU.
Fun to watch!!
Fog had nothing to do with it! Both Archer and Weber hit 400ft monster 3-run homers, and everybody hit the ball hard. I think in the 4th we had something like 7 hits in a row! 3HRs, 3 doubles, and 15 hits in 7 innings.
Harrison pitched great - 10Ks and giving up only one run and 4 hits.
Ind. St. tonight on ESPN+ at 7PM
SIU in a bit of trouble up 5-2 in the top of the 6th. Indiana State with the bases loaded and 0 outs. Winner plays Dallas Baptist in the Championship needing 2.
And Indiana State plates 2 and then hits a grand slam. Still 0 outs
Poor relief pitching killed us, as it has at times this year. As Reis said, improving the relief pitching will be a big emphasis next year.
With an rpi of 80, getting an at-large will be tough. We were 5-5 vs. top 50 and 9-5 vs. top 100 and won 40 games. Best season in decades!!
A lot to build on. The future is looking pretty bright across the board for SIU athletics
anybody have any idea of what's been recruited for this team. They need an upgrade in pitching and are losing 3/4 of the infield including their top HR hitter and also their #1 starter. Still lots of of hitting to go around, Massaglia was HOT early on then completely cold late. If they can upgrade the pitching, and some of it will get better with experience, they could be a force
