Dawgs at #73 in the latest RPI rankings.
I assume there's no chance at an at-large if we were to lose the Valley tourney, despite winning at least 40 games and the conference championship.
I wonder if the schedule for next year is set yet. SIU may need to beef up their non-conference portion. It's clear that winning in conference isn't enough.

They actually have teams that are under .500 in front of us. And teams that played a stronger schedule, but have less than .500 records against the first 3 quadrants. This computer program is a joke.
Wonder what the contingency plan for rain is, really good chance of rain on Tuesday and some rain chances on Wednesday.
Found something that could be relevant to SIU in the near future. Mizzou is retaining Steve Bieser after going 28-23 this year and 16-36 last year.
I'd think this is good for SIU this year, but if that position were to open up after next year, you'd have to think that Rhodes would be a candidate.
It'd be a shame if Mizzou got him back there after just 3 seasons at SIU.

And has one more year left, assuming he doesn't get drafted.
FYI, first game of the tourney is today at 1:30 pm CT between Missouri St. and Illinois St. Winner is likely who we play tomorrow at 11 am CT.
Clear out your work schedule now.
Rain delay in the bottom of the 5th with IlSU up 4-2 over MSU.
Brutal week for the tournament. Rain expected tomorrow and Thursday as well.
Bears ended up winning, but now Valpo vs. Indiana St is delayed, so we'll almost certainly get started later than 2:30.
At least we're the next game up after Valpo-InSU. Hopefully we'll get it in at some point today.
Looks like Indiana State/Valpo is gonna start at 2:30. So expect evening baseball. Opponent still TBD.
Mo. St. beat IlSt, so they're our opponent after the InSU vs Valpo game.
InSU up 8-0 on Valpo in the top of the 8th. Seems like we might get started within an hour.
5:52 PM first pitch, don’t be late!
Insu 8 - Beecans 0
Insu plays Evansville tonight. Gonna rain tomorrow.
Looks like Rhodes is starting Lewis, who got the start in game 1 against Illinois State. Just lasted 3 innings in that outing.
