Off-topic but....
Former Saluki Sam Coonrod was DFA'ed by the Phillies today.
Also offtopic, but he got picked up off waivers by the Mets
Surprised to not see any mention of opening weekend. It's here already. First game is TODAY at Wofford at 4:30pm CT on ESPN+. Ben Chapman with the start.
Looks like Rhodes is going with newbies for Saturday's games: Easton Dermody and Paul Bonzagni. I'll have to read up on them. I think they were offseason juco pickups.
Anyone else looking forward to the season?

Got a couple of good pitchers coming in plus a bunch of guys from last year.

Thanks for posting this. I hadn't seen and was wondering about Bonzagni and Dermody, both who are getting a start this weekend.
Looks like Rhodes scored pretty big on those two. Let's hope it translates.
Saluki Baseball leads 9-3 in the 4th inning. 4 home runs so far including 2 homers from Florida Atlantic transfer Steven Loden
Season’s off to a pretty good start so far. 9-3 Dawgs in the bottom of the 4th.
Two homeruns for FAU transfer Steven Loden. Quite the debut for him.
9-4 win for SIU and a 1-0 start to the season
Back at it today. 1pm CT start against Wofford, followed by 5pm against Towson.
Wonder if that Towson game came about because of Leonard.
Salukis lose 8-7. Steidl really struggled. Hit 3 batters in the 7th with a 2 run lead.
Salukis bounce-back against Towson in the night-cap and move to 2-1. They get Wofford again tomorrow in the series finale.
Wofford beat us today so they won 2 out of 3 against us. We're 2 - 2 now. We play at Austin Pee on Tuesday then three games at Jacksonville state. Home opener against the Billikens of Saint Lou a week from Tuesday.
Really piss-poor weekend for Saluki Athletics.
It looks like we'll need to score a ton of runs again this year. It's early, but pitching looks a little suspect. We had big leads early on in this game, but now it's somehow 12-9 Austin Peay in the 6th.
Pitching is a major problem. They’ve given up 12 runs in 5 innings to Austin Peay.
Kind of a dud response after the weekend. Hopefully the vets can get the winning culture in their team
