Salukis now up 12-4 with a ton of home runs
Salukis blow a 8 run lead and it’s 15-14 UIC in the 6th
Our pitchers have hit 5 Flames. We just tied it with our 8th HR - 400+ to CF
15 - 15
SIU pitching implodes again...wonder what excuse Rhodes will have this time. Even if we somehow slug our way to a win here, our pitching will be taxed the rest of the tournament. Good grief.
Salukis tie it in the 6th at 15 and then UIC homers in the 7th to take the lead. No chance of winning anything with this pitching.
UIC takes lead with a HR to straight CF. Wind must be blowing out.
SIU pitcher against the Flames is a Flaming Heart from Effingham.
UIC dude just got his 5th hit in 7 innings!
UIC now leads 19-15 after another 7th inning homer
Matt Schark goes deep, 9 homers for SIU today (program record)
pitching optional game, as so many of ours have been
Shark homers 19 - 17
UIC wins 19-17
Salukis hit 10 home runs (program record) including 3 by Mylott and they lose because they can't pitch
I’d say it’s unbelievable, but given the way the end of the season has gone, it’s not at all.
17 runs on TEN homeruns and you still lose. That’s downright embarrassing.
Heads are definitely going to roll as soon as the season’s finished.
Our pitching has been mediocre all year, but the wind was blowing out. UIC gave up 10 HRs and 17 runs and won. This game set the MVC tournament record for runs scored.
I agree with some earlier comments that our record is smoke and mirrors. Weak schedule and a weaker than usual MVC helped.

UIC had enough arms to limit the damage after their starter gave up 10 in 2 innings…that’s the difference. We had 12 runs after 3 innings and finished with 17. They had 4 and finished with 19. It’s a fucking joke, wind blowing out or not.
