Judging by his video, this guy would make a great stretch 4 for us. Very mobile at 6' 8" and has a deadly old school mid-range jumper.

Happy to say I was at both games. We were a missed free throw in regulation away from beating Arkansas too!

Southern is pursuing some promising talent. We know there are two open rides for this class, and then we'll see where it goes from there next offseason. The nice thing about not having a lot of roster holes is they can be selective ... if they don't get what they're after this summer/fall, they can revisit things in the spring, peruse the JUCO and D-I transfer landscape, etc. But, as much time as they're putting in on these and other guys, I'd be surprised if they don't get a commitment or two between now and fall.
From my perspective, what would be ideal is to land one of the talented point guards they're after (Quinn, Taylor, Comer, etc.) to add another young PG in the pipeline behind Jones and Banks, and then to sign a springy wing or forward (like Lindsay or Benson) to continue to upgrade the team's athleticism.
Easier said than done, I know.
Quinn was just offered by Northwestern, so that one is looking increasingly like a long shot, unless the Wolves connection comes up huge.
Isn't nice to raise the quality of recruits build from freshman with a a couple of nice transfers sprinkled in to build depth and maturity few transfers from the program to build continuity a far cry from the revolving door of jucos of the previous regime hard work and class people does make a difference can't wait for the future or is the future now
New world of recruiting:
This probably gives the mid-majors a better chance at getting commitments from really good 2 star HS kids or even some 3 star kids. However, the caveat to recruiting those kids is there is a good chance they may wish to transfer to bigger programs in a year or two. Culture is going to be huge for mid majors wanting to retain good players. I think Mullins and his staff really understand that, and work hard on fostering a good culture. Also, getting the kids to bond with their teammates on and off the court is critical. That way they are more emotionally invested and less apt to transfer. SIU's players seem really close, which helps with retention.
