Here's an in-depth feature on one of Southern's top 2022 targets, Jalen Quinn. Talented Illinois Wolves kid from Tuscola. SIU is noted as one of the schools who have offered (along with Loyola and several others), but Quinn says he is going to let the AAU season play out before zeroing in on a decision.
Would be nice to get some high-end Illinois Wolves talent. Maybe becomes easier with Moser out of the picture. Winning will start to bring in that talent for sure.
New Coach @ Loyola is proving to be no slouch, at least on the recruiting trail. That being said, I couldn't agree with you more that winning would bring in talent. Hopefully we can see the Salukis not only back above .500, but really causing mayhem in the Valley this season.

And this isn't to say the staff isn't doing a good job now, because they are. Strictly talking about Illinois Wolves talent that is going mid-major. And not talking about the really high-end guys that we probably have no shot at like the Jaden Schutt kid.

All the high school pundits and scouts have nothing but positive things to say about Avila on the offensive and defensive end. High Basketball IQ. Would be a great get. Prephoops.com: "He is the best passing big man we have seen since maybe Cameron Krutwig."

Now this is the kind of talent that I could get behind. Maybe we can land a big time freshman because other schools focusing on the transfer market!

2022 Target Justin King from Mascoutah has received an offer from Radford and continues to draw interest from Evansville, N Dakota St, S Dakota St, Utah St, Elon, and SIU among others. I know that we have been in contact.
On another note, his high school basketball coach is an SIU alum and was recently named IBCA coach of the year in 2021. A lot of talent at Mascoutah - could be a nice metro east feeder for us moving forward.

Item #6 in this notebook is all about Saluki target Jalen Quinn, with the premise that his recruitment is likely to heat up and that it might be difficult to keep the power conference teams away.

Wow, #3 was brutual.
3. College coaches still aren’t after high school players. So apologies to those still uncommitted and unsigned senior prospects in the Class of 2021.
Every college player has been granted another year of eligibility due to the pandemic. Thus, the transfer portal is still overflowing, and the draw to college-ready players is the optimum choice for a majority of college coaches.
Truth to be told, chances are you probably weren’t good enough for whatever scholarship level you think you should be playing at anyway. Sorry. But go ahead, continue to use the excuse you weren’t seen for a little while longer.
We're about to see a massive boom at the JUCO level.

Can you explain? I'm not sure what you mean.
High school kids are likely being under-recruited with the transfer market being as insane as it is and more prominent players than usual might go the JUCO route
