@insaluki I'm basing my opinion on Ebube on some of the High School games I saw him play via internet feed. The announcers all talked about what advanced offensive post moves he had. Not sure where you're hearing the opposite.
I'm excited about Ebube, especially since he's put on more muscle since high school but I don't know how much you can trust bigs that haven't played D1 college basketball yet, at least at the beginning of the season. I fully expect him to make strides as the year goes on.
@insaluki Ebube can score. It's not like he played in the river to river. He won the MVP award as a sophomore in the Carbondale Holiday Tournament. Had 27 and 15 vs Collins Academy in the Championship game. He scores as much as they need him and is a MAN on the glass. I wish they had played him last year but I think Mullins didn't want him playing against 22/23 year old players. Or Gage Prim who is 35
Indeed he did score and he certainly has the athleticism and talent to further improve on that in college. I was simply saying that in the games I watched, which was nearly every game of his senior year, most of his points came on put backs, transition, dunks, etc. He did not score often on traditional post moves and certainly not on mid range jumpers. If, however, he does become even a competent/reliable threat, he could have the highest potential impact of any player on the team.

I don't want to beat a dead horse and certainly don't want to give the impression that I'm not excited about the potential of this young man. But I watched almost every game he played and I do not recall a single mid range jumper nor many "traditional" post moves . Again, with his superior athleticism, perhaps this coaching staff will change that as I do think he has potential. As I said, I hope you are right because if you are, this team will be much better than last year.
I’m feeling you man, you should see the rack on my next door neighbor’s wife. It’s painful.

All I know is I was told two things last September by a person very, very connected to the program. He was told that Ebube is “freakishly” athletic, but don’t be surprised if he redshirts. My intuition tells me that having a 6-10/265 uber-athlete in the paint cannot be a bad thing. I remember the days when our “bigs” were 6-5! Go Dawgs.

Any news on recruiting? Is Chris Payton visiting soon?

Chris Payton is simply not Bryan's kind of guy. When he was in high school, and we were recruiting him, I know a guy whose son was on the team. Some of the stories this kid told his dad were troubling.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
Weren’t in on him but former Bradley player and John A Logan Sean East goes to Mizzou:

When was the last player from John A. Logan signed by SIU? How about the last three? It sure doesn't seem like SIU has that good of a relationship with them. Even with the Smithpeters brothers there.

Yeah, Route 13 between Carterville and Carbondale hasn't exactly been a glorious pipeline of talent for Saluki basketball (across multiple decades and coaching staffs).

Really? Heard he is a real possibility and do believe he will be visiting soon.

I'd also keep an eye on fellow Indian Hills product Jvonne Hadley, who the staff has been recruiting and also checks some of the boxes they are looking for in an athletic forward.

High school was a long time ago. Maybe the kid has grown up a bit.
