Ferguson scored his 1,000th point on Jan. 8 against Cypress Ranch High School. He was honored before the game against Cypress Springs High School on Jan. 15 and given a signed commemorative basketball. "It feels good to get this milestone. I couldn't do it by myself," said Ferguson. "I thank my past teammates and my teammates this year. It's good to set the goal for the kids coming up and give them a goal to reach."
Another commit, and a Peacock at that. Should be a helpful addition in the frontcourt.

There will be another signee Clarence Rupert. Posted it at the same time Ha ha
I’ll say this, every kid is different…but if history is any indication he likely won’t be an impact player year one and right now we need another immediate impact 3/4 (maybe that is still to come).
As mentioned in another post, our two other D2 transfers averaged much higher than this kid at their original institutions and both were role players for teams that didn’t finish top four in the league. I would love to be eating crow in a couple months, but color me skeptical. I say this knowing he has three years left and could yet turn in to a big time contributor, but this is year four not year one/two.
Absent another add it is clear to me the staff believes in three young big men and the scoring ability of those already on the roster. Maybe Newton is the thought of as the third big scorer? I don’t know…I don’t see it right now. I’ll be happy to be wrong.

Wow now this is a good get and he knows what it’s like to win big
Adding elite eight experience to the roster! Scored 11 vs Purdue in Sweet 16

Hopefully he brings some Sean Lloyd-style Philly toughness to the paint. Still will have three years to play. I think he's more of a 5 than a 4, so if that's the case, the post is getting pretty deep (and nasty) with him, Ebube, Muila and Hornecker.
Also confirms someone else (Harvey?) won't be back.
As a freshman, started every game in the NCAA - 11 pts, 4 rbs, 3 steals in upset of Purdue.
6' 8".
Rupert is ranked 264 on EvanMiya with -1.8 OBPR, 10.9 DBPR, 9.1 BPR projections for next year. Hopefully he develops on offense but this seems like a Mullins guy and I approve. Plus he was a key piece on an Elite Eight team. Good work by the staff.

I like the addition! Mr. Ferguson can hoop!
Is it just me, or does it sound like a Mike Reis copycat making the call on the play at the :20 mark of this video?
Well.. this kid certainly has all the tools. Here's hoping he's a late bloomer because with his height, athleticism, ability to knock down 3's, handle the ball and defend, he definitely has the potential to develop into a very nice player in this league.
When SIU was great, we made a living on finding and developing players with this type of profile.
Like others on here, I still suspect there will be one more addition for next year; likely a 4 or 5 with experience (and hopefully high-end athleticism).
I am curious as to what the reaction would be on this board if we have just signed Tony Young. Who remembers that? Weber & Co. went to Chicago for an event where they had invited local players to come in. Exactly one player showed up. Weber offered him on the spot, since he had showed up. Tony Young. What say we give Ferguson an opportunity to at least get on the court before we declare him unfit?
You mean the Mid-Suburban Conference player of the year who helped Schaumburg to 29 - 3 record and the AA State Championship?
I'd be overjoyed!!!!
Tony Young is the new head coach (and assistant athletic director) at Fenwick High School BTW.
Off to Murray
The 'Ja' effect is very real and alive. He's going to be their best recruiter for years to come. He has a large social media following and is very active and promotional for Murray games on Twitter. Plus every kid wants to be Ja Morant. He's must-watch TV.
He must be better at getting them to come to Murray than getting them to stay at Murray, given that the whole team hauled a$$ this year!!

James Madison
Started every game of the NCAA Tournament run
Watching the highlights, really impressed with his basketball smarts and unselfishness. Several really nice passes. He's definitely a 5, though, with almost all his baskets right at the rim ... going to be a logjam at the 5, but guessing this guy starts. Should have great post depth.
