Nick Hill Press Conference:
Will Hill sign another QB from the portal to replace SL’s late departure?
Any word on Avante Cox coming back or trying to play professionally at some level?QB room is already pretty full and they brought in a Freshmen Tre Baker with the early signing period (puts us at 7). I doubt they bring in another one, but if a high level transfer is out there, I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger.
I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen any transfers from the QB room since the end of the season (I thought Zebrowski might move on).
I thought Zabrowski had a pretty good team camp. I was thinking Norton might after not seeing many reps at QB2. Is Zabrowski a walk-on?
I think he was QB3 with Lindauer out, so who knows once he's back from injury, could end up QB4. After that you have Foss who was a three start recruit sitting right behind him. Just seems with that many QBs and him being a 3rd year, he might want to move somewhere for playing time.
With Norton, it'll be interesting to see where things go after a full offseason. If he's still QB2, I could see him sticking around, but if he falls to QB3 or lower, I would expect he'd want to move on as well. It's hard to keep 7 QBs happy with reps, but so far the only casualty has been Stone L.
I think SN and ZZ both jumped a spot after Lindauer injury. I would think those 3 will get a good look in spring ball. The new Baker signed today looks like a nice player.
Dawgs signed 9 freshmen snd 3 transfers. Really like the 3 transfers. Would have like to get more than 12 signed in the early period. How many more will Hill look to bring in? Seems like 20+ is the goal. Looks like we just added two more transfer kids. Both LBs. Up to 14 signed.

Loving the depth they are adding at LB, still a bit concerned with the lack of lineman (save two freshmen). Really feel like they need a transfer or two on both sides of the ball to step in right away (especially on defense at tackle).
Still early in the cycle of recruiting I expect after the FCS bowl games transfers will step up

3 star WR recruit out of Tyrone, Georgia.

Hawes spent 2 years at Cincy before transferring to Arkansas State. https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/stats/_/id/4239084/javan-hawes
Hawes looks like a nice get at WR. Seems like Hill is trying to bring in several on the defensive side of the ball. I think we need to add a couple oline kids from the portal.
Not sure if I missed any but are there any Dawgs in the portal as of this week?
Was interested in what SIU was gonna do at WR with Lenoir leaving. Avante Cox is obviously still good but a lot of questions behind him. Like what I saw from Hartrup this year, think he's gonna take a big leap in 2022. Would like to see the tight ends utilized better too. Think Tyce Daniel can be used more in the passing game.

Dawgs get early hype in one voters early rankings.
Dawgs also only 1 of 13 teams that stayed ranked all season.

Hate this. He was going to have a good career.

Oof so much for that. Now the addition of wide receivers makes sense. I'm not a fan of the WR room going into next season right now.
How many WRs are coming in as transfers?
